4.5 stars, and I am loving this series!!!

But first, a word of advice – Richochet is considered a ‘companion novel’ that takes place between Addicted to You and Addicted for Now, and I must say that I find that really confusing. This book follows on so beautifully from Addicted to You and, in my opinion, should be read as the second book of the series before going onto Addicted for Now. It contains a lot of important developments, with lots of time spent getting to know each of the characters more. And I absolutely loved it!

Warning – this review contains spoilers for Addicted To You.

This book picks up a week after the ending of Addicted to You. Lo has gone off to rehab for his alcoholism, leaving Lily in the care of her sister while she fights her sexual compulsions and tries to stay faithful while she waits for him.

Lily’s struggles – both with her compulsions, and being without Lo for the first time – are heartbreaking, and the authors, once again, do a great job of helping us understand what she is going through.

“I want to love Lo without people telling me that our love is too much.”

My heart broke for Lily, but you have to admire her. Not only is she trying to cope without her soul mate, but she still struggles with her addiction, and her self-loathing at times is devastating. But she tries so hard to overcome her compulsions, taking some very important steps towards her recovery and being able to understand her addiction.

And she has her sister and her friends around her helping her every step of the way! And with Lo out of the picture somewhat, it gives Connor and Ryke a chance to step up. I fall more and more in love with these guys every time I see them. I am absolutely desperate to get to their books!

I also really enjoyed getting to know Daisy and Rose better. I wasn’t sure about Rose while reading the first book, but she really came through in the end. And in this one, we see more of her loving and caring side as she really steps up for Lily, as well as some of her vulnerabilities. She’s a fascinating character, and I’m keen to learn more about her. And I love that Connor – with his brilliant blend of smartass and sensitivity – was absolutely and unquestionably there for her.

“I don’t need you,” she repeats, her voice breaking.
“You’re right,” he says softly. “You don’t need a man, Rose.” He pauses and I barely hear him whisper, “But you do need me.”

And Daisy is an absolute firecracker! Her attitude and confidence is the complete opposite of her sisters, and I really like the vibrancy that she brings to the story. And the (somewhat inappropriate) sexual tension that is flying between her and Ryke is absolutely sensational!

“Hate to break it to you, but sex is ten times better than skydiving.”
“No it’s not,” she rebuts.
Ryke leans forward on his chair a little. “Then whoever fucked you didn’t do it right, sweetheart.”

Even though Lo doesn’t feature a lot, he is present in the story. Throughout the book, Lily recalls moments from their past, and I loved getting the opportunity to learn more about them, and see just how deep their connection is, and how they got to the point that they are at. And even though they are separated in the present, they still have brief moments together that are heart-clenchingly beautiful. Lo shows so much strength in this story, and I love that even while he’s battling his own demons, he is still there for Lily, and they remain deeply committed and very much in love.

“I love you,” he says again, “and no other man will ever say those words and mean them the way I do.”

I am loving this series, and this group of characters, and am so excited to continue their stories.

4.5 stars.
