4.5 “Crazy” stars

Banking the Billionaire by Max Monroe picks up after the end of the novella, Tapping Her. It was absolutely hilarious, totally steamy, and heartwarmingly sweet. This book has reiterated the fact that Max Monroe is a talented duo of writers that I can not get enough of!!

We first met Thatch and Cassie in Tapping the Billionaire as Kline and Georgia’s best friends. We got a little snippet of the two of them but it wasn’t until Tapping Her that we got to know them better. I knew after reading the novella that I would fall in love with them and I was right! I love Cassie and Thatch and their unconventional love story in Banking the Billionaire.

Cassie is sassy, beautiful, hilarious, and has a crude sense of humor. She isn’t known for sticking with something for too long, but she is hardworking and has finally found a job she loves. She has never had a boyfriend and isn’t interested in settling down, however, that all changes when she spends time with Thatch.

Thatch is used to getting what he wants and the women he wants but he’s not the typical manwhore that we may have thought he was when we first met him. Though he has admittedly gone “through a laundry list of women,” he respects them and each one has meant something to him. And though he hasn’t had many real relationships, Thatch witnesses the love between Kline and Georgia and longs to find the person who is meant for him and share that kind of love.

A person who does their best to know you in and out and looks out for you when you can’t look out for yourself. The kind of person who wants to live life to its very fullest—but wants to do it with you.

Since taking care of Kline and Georgia’s cat while they were on their honey moon, Thatch and Cassie have shared texts and pranked each other on numerous occasions. They both think about each other all the time, and though they constantly talk about Cassie’s boobs and Thatch’s boner, they haven’t slept together…yet.

Thatch and Cassie have crazy hot chemistry and the sexual tension surrounding them is off the charts. The sex is steamy and hilarious when they finally dive in, and what began as a game of one-upping each other changes along the way and a unique love story begins.

What started out as a game of pranks and a constant battle of wills had turned into something that didn’t feel superficial at all. Somewhere along the line, the playbook had changed for me. I didn’t understand the details of how I’d gotten here, and I had no idea if anything had changed for her, but I knew to my soul that I wanted more.

I absolutely loved Banking the Billionaire. The characters are interesting and far from perfect but they complement each other wonderfully. Cassie and Thatch are so similar, both sarcastic and unfiltered. I love how they can go from funny to serious and back again one interaction. Every scene had me smiling and the way they loved each other in their own way made my heart warm.

Cassie was a riot and she had me laughing the entire book. Everything that came out of her mouth was wild and over the top, and it fit her personality perfectly. Her antics were great and she had me constantly guessing with what she would come up with next. She also has a huge heart and genuinely cares for the people around her which made me love her even more.

Thatch was an amazing character and I loved him from the start. I adored the way he fell for Cassie. He was honest, loyal, and fun, and said the sweetest things, melting my heart with nearly every interaction. He was funny and I loved watching him when he was riled up and when we was trying to one-up Cassie. He was seriously swoon worthy and I couldn’t help but fall right along with Cassie.

“Don’t worry, honey,” he said, his lips mere inches from mine. “We’re on the same page.”
“But how do you know?” I asked. “What if we’re not even reading the same fucking book?”
“Because I know.” His mouth quirked up at the corners as a confident smile took over his lips. “We’re on the same word, in the same paragraph, on the same page, in the same fantastic fucking book.”
“But
how do you know?”
“Because it’s our book, Cassie. Yours and mine. This is our story, and I’ll be damned if I let it end badly.”

He was a well rounded character who was smart, hardworking, funny, and loving. Though his past wasn’t pain free, he didn’t let it tear him down. I loved that he knew what he wanted and was passionate about his friendships and his jobs.

There was just enough angst at the end to have me flipping pages as fast as I could searching for a happy ending, and the epilogue was everything the book was and more. It gives us an idea of what to except in the next novella, Banking Her, and also more of Wes and an introduction to Winnie. I am itching to get my hand on their story in Scoring the Billionaire!!! I can’t wait to see what Max Monroe has in store for us.
