5 MASSIVE STARS!

I can’t even…

When I love a book I usually vomit words all over the page, but I’ve been sitting and staring at my computer screen for about 20 minutes now with no idea how to even start. I can’t even begin to put into words what this book did to me.

It’s an incredible journey for so many of the characters and a huge turning point in the series. Heartbreaking, heartpounding and heartstopping, there are scenes in this book that had me absolutely breathless. Like, I literally stopped breathing. It’s just that good.

“You didn’t need a weapon at all when you were born one.”

– Celaena blew my mind. She is coming to terms with who she is and all that that means and her strength and determination is astounding.

– Chaol’s journey is heartbreaking. His whole world shifts in this book as he begins to question everything he thought his life was. I love his fortitude, and I’m still betting on him!!!

– Dorian… I have no words. I absolutely love him and I have no words.

– Aedion is a surprise. His love and loyalty are beautiful, and I’m so excited by the potential for his story.

– Rowan was the biggest surprise of all. I love his introduction as a hardass, I love his story, and I adore his relationship with Celaena and the changes it brings about in both of them. He is an incredible part of this story and it’s his scenes that left me breathless. Just amazing!

I have been really enjoying this series, but with this book Sarah J. Mass has turned me into a hardcore fangirl. Her writing is phenomenal and the world she has created is complex with lots of political wrangling, action, excitement, twists, turns and surprises, all written with an emotional punch, and this book consumed me from beginning to end.

I finished it a while ago and my head is still spinning from everything that happened. There is a lot of resolution in this book but it leads to even more questions, and with a whole lot of shocks and surprises in those final few chapters, I can’t wait to see where it’s all going to go from here.

5 MASSIVE stars.
