Oh my heart, what a beautiful read! So much emotion, and an epically swoony romance, I loved this book!

This book is the follow up to Tender Heart, and cannot be read as a standalone. The last book introduced us to isolated lighthouse keeper, Cal, and novelist Evie in a forced proximity, age gap, grumpy/sunshine romance that was sexy, swoony, and epic in its intensity. The book ended on a hideous cliffhanger, and I’ve been desperate to continue their story, but I was not prepared for the emotional fallout from the events that ended the last book, or the rollercoaster ride of this one.

I’m avoiding spoilers and keeping this one vague, but Cal and Evie have a heartwrenching struggle on their hands to find their way back to each other. It’s dramatic and unexpected, but so well written, and I felt everything along with these characters. My heart ached for both of them, and I was madly flipping pages, needing to see how it was all going to play out.

I need this man more than oxygen. At this point, suffocating would be easier, less painful than spending another day without him in my life.

Yes, there is separation, but it’s not through any fault of theirs. It’s just what they’re faced with, and watching them finding their way back to each other is a breathtaking journey. When the reunion comes, it’s everything I was hoping for, bringing more blissful romance that had me swooning madly.

I’m hers. I was a man alone on his island. A lighthouse keeper with a solitary existence. Now, I’m whatever the fuck she wants me to be.
And…
She’s mine.

But that’s not the end of their story. There is more for them to face, and it’s an emotional ride that kept me glued to my kindle, unable to stop reading. It’s dramatic and heartwrenching, but it’s also sweet, with light-hearted moments and of course it’s gorgeously romantic. Cal and Evie have things to figure out, and they’re only just starting to realise what their HEA could be, and I loved seeing them happy and together, taking each other’s backs as they deal with all that’s thrown at them and fight for their happy ending.

Cal’s sister, Iris and his best friend, Emmett, are a big part of this story, and I’m so freaking excited for them to get their own book. There’s so much chemistry between those two! There are hints that there may be more books in the series as well, and I am here for it!

I loved this book, I loved Cal and Evie, and their beautiful love story, and finished this book feeling happy and satisfied.
