4 short and sweet stars
This is a super short story (only 80 pages), but it’s such a sweet read. A brother’s-best-friend romance full of that Devney Perry Montana charm, and I loved it!
Delylah has crushed on her best friend’s brother, Noah, for as long as she can remember, but he never really showed much interest in her growing up. When the two are reunited at Noah’s sister’s wedding at Haven River Ranch, Montana, it’s clear that her feelings for him are still very much there. And it turns out Noah has been hiding feelings of his own.
My heart skipped. “Noah Chappel. Are you flirting with me?”
“Yes.” He answered without hesitation. “Want me to stop?”
“Nope.”
“Good.”
This may be a short read, but Devney Perry gives us two lovable characters, a wonderful backstory, and heaps of chemistry. I was so quickly invested in their story. The attempted set-up, close proximity, brother/sister dynamic, and years of longing are all well developed, and I loved watching these two finally come together.
“I just know that I can’t be in the same room as you anymore and pretend like you’re not the only woman I can see.”
I honestly wish it had been longer so I could have experienced more of their story, but this was such a great read.
4 stars.
