What a fantastic read! A fun, super sexy and gorgeously romantic rockstar, childhood-crush, close proximity, sex-lessons-with-no-strings, fake relationship romance, this novella sucked me in and didn’t let go, and I loved it so much!
Faina and Dex went to high school together, then their lives were even more tied when her twin sister married his best friend. Though they both crushed on each other madly, nothing ever happened between them and their relationship since then has been mostly antagonistic. But now, they find themselves both betrayed by now-exes, nursing wounded hearts and needing an escape. They wind up both running to the same luxury cabin in the snowy mountains, and end up stuck there together over Christmas week. What begins as snark soon turns steamy as Faina agrees to be playboy rockstar Dex’s girlfriend to get the press off his back, in return for him teaching her how to be more adventurous in bed. It works for both of them, for lots of reasons, and they dive on in with no strings, and a plan for it to finish at the end of their week together.
I look up at Dex. “I want a man to make me feel crazy. I want to be so overcome with desire that I can’t keep my hands to myself. I want to see sparks fucking fly.”
… “Princess, I can make sparks fly. I can make them dance behind your eyes. I can take you out for a ride and twist you up until you’re mine.”
We all know where the story is going, but the predictability is part of the excitement – knowing what’s coming and watching it unfold. And OMG, this book is sizzling! The chemistry is electric, the sexy time is dirty and intense, and the emotion is just gorgeous! Faina and Dex have always had feelings for each other, but it’s Dex that falls hardest and fastest, and what a beautiful ride it is seeing their intense physical connection become so much more.
I’ve never felt such a tormenting and blinding need to completely own someone physically and mentally as I do her. I want her heart. I want it as mine. And I need her to want to hold mine beside her as well.
The dynamic between these two is lots of fun. They laugh and tease, they flirt and dirty talk, and they are there for each other in exactly the way they need. I loved seeing them share their vulnerabilities and lift each other up. They are so freaking perfect for each other!
I enjoyed every moment of this book. It made me laugh, swoon and fan myself, and it finishes beautifully with a happy ending that let me smiling and feeling completely loved up and satisfied.
This is my third J. Saman book in the last week, and I am so in love with her characters, her writing, and her beautifully romantic stories. This is another absolute winner, and I loved it.
