Release & ARC Review: Bossing My Holiday by J. Saman

Bossing My Holiday by J. Saman is live!

This is a fantastically fun standalone romance with a great list of tropes – billionaire, boss/employee, grumpy/sunshine, fake relationship, enemies-to-lovers, Christmas, it’s set in Paris and, of course, it’s MFM (where they’re all about her). It’s wildly sexy and gorgeously swoony, and I loved this book!

Things not on my Christmas wish list? Fake dating my billionaire Scrooge of a boss, Tristan Ouest.

But that’s exactly what I’m doing and why I’m on a plane heading to Paris with him and my other boss, co-CEO Braxton Hicks.

According to Braxton, this is the perfect arrangement. I act as the doting girlfriend to get Tristan’s matchmaking, old-money family off his back and he pays off the large debt I have from caring for my grandmother.

Except Braxton has other things in mind with this trip…like sharing me with Tristan.

And the things they want to do to me put them straight on the naughty list.

I should say no to all of this. After all, I need my job and sleeping with both of my bosses is a recipe for disaster. Especially when things start to get messy and complicated.
But they don’t just want me as a holiday treat. They want more.

Now they’re bossing my holiday. And before I know it, I’m in way over my head—falling for my grumpy fake boyfriend and his sinful best friend.

Bossing My Holiday is a standalone holiday, fake relationship, forced proximity in Paris, spicy workplace MFM romance with a swoony why-choose style HEA! It’s delicious holiday fun for anyone who likes being on Santa’s naughty list—and for anyone who dreams of two men worshiping them at once.

Tristan and Braxton are billionaire CEOs of their own pharmaceutical company. Tristan is the serious and broody businessman while Braxton is the fun and charming science guy. They’re about to travel to Paris for Christmas, where Tristan will face up to the expectation of his family to not only move to Paris to take over the family hotel business, but to marry, and they’ve got a bunch of women lined up for him to meet. His salvation comes in the form of his assistant, Waverley.

Waverley is smart and independent, and she’s struggling under the weight of family debt. When her boss offers her a lifeline, she reluctantly accepts his offer to act as his fake girlfriend in front of his family during their business trip to Paris, for a very healthy bonus which will pay off her debts. But it soon becomes clear that her bosses – Braxton in particular – have something more in mind.

I pat the chair directly between Tristan and me. The one I intentionally left open when I sat down. “We need to present a united front. Two CEO’s, one exceptional assistant.”
… Waverley hesitates, then gathers her things and moves to the chair between us.
“Perfect,” I say, leaning back in my chair. “How does it feel, Waverley, to be the filling in our corporate sandwich?”
Tristan nearly chokes on his coffee and has to wipe a dribble of it from his chin. “For fuck’s sake.”

Braxton and Tristan are as close as brothers, and they have shared women in the past but never really gotten emotionally invested. With Waverley, everything is different. Braxton is unabashedly in love with their assistant, and he has decided that their trip is the perfect time to claim her – ideally with Tristan as part of the relationship, he just has to get him to agree.

“If you’re willing and wanting, there could be more here than any of us has allowed ourselves to imagine.”

It’s such a great set-up, and the dynamics between these three are so freaking good. Braxton and Waverley have an easy friendship which quickly becomes more as Braxton makes his move. Waverley and Tristan’s relationship is more complex. He is controlling and moody and she hates him, yet he is secretly harbouring feelings for her but knows that he can’t get involved due to the expectations of his family. It’s a melting pot of lust and feelings and the chemistry is wild, and I loved watching these three bicker, tease and banter, and find their way to exploring something really special.

I feel like I could have this. Like maybe it’s my turn, and life is too fucking short not to go after what I truly want. I don’t even know what my breaking point was. I just know I hit it.

This book is wickedly sexy. Saman doesn’t hold back in exploring the near insatiable physical relationship between these three, and it works for them in all kinds of ways (note – there is no m/m relationship in this one). And more than that, the relationship is functional and beautifully romantic. I could see how they all loved each other, how they worked together, and it felt so real. The three of them all bring something unique to the relationship, and they just fit, and I loved seeing them figure it all out.

“Oh, Sunshine. There hasn’t been a moment since I laid eyes on you where you weren’t already mine.”

“I don’t want this life if I can’t have you with me.”

Amidst the funny and sweet moments and all the sexy time, there is some drama and really nice emotional development, and I got swept up in the romance of this story. It’s such a great read, and I loved it.

4.5 stars.
