From USA Today, #1 Amazon, and BookTok bestselling author Kandi Steiner comes a sizzling, second-chance romance set on the high seas—perfect for fans of Below Deck and readers who crave angsty, high-stakes love stories.
Ember Reed is finally living her dream: chief stew on a Mediterranean superyacht, sun-kissed days at sea, and the star of Close Quarters, the hottest new reality TV show. But just as she finds her stride, the producers throw her a curveball—by hiring the one man who nearly sank her.
Finn Pearson was the one that got away. The boy who kissed her like they had forever, then left without a word. But now he’s the chef in her new crew, and the cameras are watching their every move, innocent, or not.
Even on a superyacht, there’s nowhere to hide from the past. Every stolen glance, every whispered argument, every lingering memory threatens to ignite what never fully burned out. And as the tension spills into their day jobs, even the dinner service is spiralling into disaster.
They’ve crashed before… but could eight weeks at sea be their second chance to get it right? Or will it be the storm that finally sinks them for good?

OMG, I love this book! Based on the cover, I was expecting a light and fluffy romcom, but this book is not that. It’s emotional and angsty, with an incredible second-chance romance full of longing, and I got so wrapped up in the story.
Ember and Finn both work hospitality on luxury boats. They fell in wild love, but it ended badly and they haven’t seen each other for two years. Now, they are reunited on a new yacht for the summer, and the whole thing is being filmed for a reality TV show.
It’s messy but fun, angsty and emotional, and seeing these two come back together after such a heartwrenching break-up had me desperate for every encounter.
“I didn’t realize, Em…I didn’t realize how much this all means to you.”
“You didn’t realize how much you mean to me, either,” I shot back, pushing off the wall to stand straight again. My chest brushed against his sternum when I did. “You still don’t.”
I loved getting to know the crew, they work hard, and they cut loose on their nights out, laughing, teasing and joking together. There is good and there is bad, and the dynamics are really entertaining. And in the middle of it all is the angsty reunion of Ember and Finn. Though they try to keep things professional, their connection is undeniable.
“Just let me have you again and I swear I’ll do anything it takes to keep you.”
They’re in a complicated situation for more reasons than one, and some of their decisions and actions are questionable. But they slowly start to unpack their past and find their way forward, owning their mistakes and following their hearts, and the love story is sexy, passionate and swoony, and I loved watching them come back together.
“This? You and me?” His hands cradled my face, forcing me to look at him, and I swore I died and was born again in the depth of his sea-green eyes. “This is the only thing that’s right.”
Along the way, they’re also wrestling with their own demons and figuring out what they want and where they want to be, and there’s a beautifully happy ending with everything wrapped up perfectly, and I finished this book feeling so satisfied.
It’s been a long time since a book has kept me up until the early hours of the morning, but this book did, I couldn’t put it down. It’s the kind of book I wish I could read again for the first time just to experience all those feels again. I absolutely adored it!
