How to describe this series? It’s definitely on the darker side of romance with a unique edge and is quite unlike anything else I’ve ever read. Delving deep into the underworld of kink and BDSM, this series has unforgetable characters, fantastically sarcastic humour, several devastastingly beautiful (though definitely unconventional) love stories, and is also one of the most intelligent, well thought-out, and well written series I have ever read. Each book is an incredible read, and I highly recommend giving it a try.
The series is split into two groups – The Red Years and the White Years. The Red Years contains the main storyline and must be read first, The White Years books delve deeper into each of the character’s lives, showing us the past, filling in the gaps and providing additional insight into each individual plotline. Again, really cleverly done, and once you read them all you’ll sit back and wonder at the genius of it all.
And in addition to the main books, there are a number of novellas and free stories that Tiffany Reisz has written to complement this series. It is absolutely possible to read the main novels without these extras, but they definitely enhance the world and provide some fantastic insight into these amazing characters. We have listed below the books and novellas that the author suggests are read in a particular order, but there are more available on Tiffany’s website. If, like me, you find yourself completely immersed in this world, you’ll be desperate for more.
