3 weeks. 5 cities. 15 impossible stunts. One reality show.

Trevor Cross came into Reya Cabrera’s world with a bang and faded out with a whimper. They vowed to make it work, but life had other plans. After chasing his TV dreams for years, Trev finally became the UK’s next big reality star, but he alienated his family and friends in the process. Now he finally has everything he ever wanted. Women. Money. Fame. But none of it means anything when he doesn’t have the one thing that matters most: love.

Money leaves a gaping hole. Fame surrounds him with loneliness. And no woman makes him feel like Reya used to before the whirlwind of success pulled them apart.

He has a plan to get her back. However, with a hectic filming schedule looming, the only way to do that is to convince her to come on the road with him. Reya has been stuck in a rut for a while, and the opportunity to travel across Europe and play her music for new audiences seems like heaven. The only catch? She has to do it with the one boy who ever got close enough to break her heart. But he’s not a boy anymore, and as she gets to know him again she can’t deny her respect for the man he’s become.

Every time she’s around him her heart feels full of air, like a balloon about to pop. Little does she know, Trev’s feelings are just as tumultuous as hers. One thing’s for sure, these three weeks on the road together will either make them whole again or break them irrevocably.

**Hearts on Air is a contemporary romance and book #6 in the Hearts series, however it can also be read as a complete standalone.**

4.25 stars!

Hearts on Air is the sixth book in the Hearts series by L.H. Cosway and a beautifully emotive second-chance romance with witty banter, steamy sexy times, and a whole lot of heart. It’s sweet and swoony with excitement and a little bit of angst thrown into the mix and I loved it!

This story picks up from where One Epic Night ended. After spending a wonderful night together, the morning brings unexpected changes. Just when Reya thinks it’s their time to finally be together, Trevor gets his big break. Landing a part on a reality show called Running on Air where he can entertain viewers doing what he loves – showing off his amazing parkour abilities – is exactly what he has dreamed of doing. Unfortunately, it turns out to be the thing that pulls Reya and Trevor apart leaving only pain and broken hearts in its wake.

Men like Trevor Cross came around once in a lifetime. I’d had my one time. I knew that even if I found love again, it would never come close to living up to what I had for a brief second before it was snatched away.

Fast forward two years and Reya is still hurting from the breakup and trying to move on. Then, Trevor shows up unannounced wanting a second-chance.

I loved this book. It is a fantastic addition to the much loved Hearts series. It was one of my most anticipated reads of 2017 and it did not disappoint. As with the other books in the series, Hearts on Air has a unique storyline and unforgettable characters.

Reya was real and likeable. She is such a great girl with a huge heart. When Trevor was thrown into the spotlight, I felt her emotions clear as day. She was envious and jealous but still wanted nothing but the best for Trevor even when she felt she was missing out. When she was hurting, she was still a good friend. My heart broke when I learned about her tragic past and her strength to overcome the pain was amazing. She doesn’t have a lot of people in her life so the ones she does have are dear to her. She loves completely and deeply, even if it breaks her heart.

Trevor was a complex character with flaws along with his strengths. He has an electricity about him that keeps things exciting. He loves taking charge and is constantly moving and testing the limits. I was looking forward to his story after watching him with Reya in the previous book because the flirting and intensity between them stood out. I knew things would have to go wrong before they find themseld fighting for a second chance at love.

“You’re the best friend I ever had, and losing you is my biggest regret, the worst thing that ever happened to me.”

I loved watching Trevor’s commitment to overcome his challenges and the strength he showed to change things. I also loved that he went after what he wanted and didn’t give up. His character is relatable and as he tried to pursue Reya to come work for the band, he was nervous and uncertain, letting his vulnerabilities show even as his determination remained strong. I loved that he saw Reya for who she was on the inside.

“I was always fascinated when I watched you perform,” he confessed and my breath caught…“You were so real. You fucking slayed me. You mesmerised everyone and that’s because you were so unaware.”

He knew what she needed and was willing to go the distance to win her back and it made me swoon like crazy.

I loved watching Trevor and Reya get to know each again. They have changed so much over the years but the original foundation is still there. The attraction is ever present as they easily slip back into the way things were, no matter how much Reya would like to fight it. The pent-up sexual tension builds until it can’t be contained and Reya and Trev heat up the pages but its more of a slow burn which leaves you desperate for them to make a move. They are perfect together even if they seem opposite. They complement each other, Reya bringing Trevor down from his adrenaline highs and Trevor lifting Reya up from her lows. They offer unconditional support and love, and show true commitment to each other.

The flashbacks crushed me with the pain of the past. It was heartbreaking and I had tears watching what could have been a beautiful love story fail before it really even got started. I understood how things played out and why but I was frustrated with the reasons why things happened the way they did. I loved watching the characters grow and felt that in the end, they needed to experience everything the way they did to become stronger as a couple as well as individually.

Overall, it’s another wonderful story and I am so sad to see the series come to an end.
