Synopsis

From the author who brought you A Thousand Boy Kisses comes the new emotional novel, A Wish For Us.
A story of music. A story of healing. A story of love conquering all.

Nineteen-year-old Cromwell Dean is the rising star of electronic dance music. Thousands of people adore him. But no one knows him. No one sees the color of his heart.

Until the girl in the purple dress. She sees through the walls he has built to the empty darkness within.

When Cromwell leaves behind the gray skies of England to study music in the South Carolina heat, the last thing he expects is to see her again. And he certainly doesn’t expect that she’ll stay in his head like a song on repeat.

Bonnie Farraday lives for music. She lets every note into her heart, and she doesn’t understand how someone as talented as Cromwell can avoid doing the same.
He’s hiding from his past, and she knows it. She tries to stay away from him, but something keeps calling her back.

Bonnie is the burst of color in Cromwell’s darkness. He’s the beat that makes her heart skip.

But when a shadow falls over Bonnie, it’s up to Cromwell to be her light, in the only way he knows how. He must help her find the lost song in her fragile heart. He must keep her strong with a symphony only he can compose.

A symphony of hope.
A symphony of love.
A symphony of them.

Review

4.5 “violet blue and silver” stars!

A Wish for Us completely captivated me with it’s beautiful description, vivid imagery, and well-developed romance. It took me by surprise and I loved it.  I believe it’s best if you go into it blind to experience the full effect of this emotional story so don’t go looking for spoilers.

The plot is unique and intriguing, capturing my attention and refusing to let go. I was fascinated with the ideas within the story and I fell in love with the characters. I completely invested in their lives and was desperate for their happily ever after as the story unfolded.

Bonnie is beautiful, inside and out. She sees the best in people and believes in them. She is a strong heroine with a steel backbone and doesn’t allow people to push her around. She loves music and lives with it inside her soul. Her dreams are gorgeous and her determination to succeed is astounding.

Cromwell is talented and famous but he is lost and alone. He is not truly living as he fights to push the past away, a past that made him veer off course. My heart was filled with sadness as his life spirals out of control.

He may be the fastest-rising DJ in Europe, but what he was playing wasn’t his passion. It wasn’t his purpose.
He couldn’t fool me.
The Cromwell Dean I’d watched as a child had died with whatever made him lose that need to create such life-changing pieces of music.

And then Bonnie entered the picture and everything changes. She challenges Cromwell and makes him feel the things he has tried to forget. I understood the pain and conflict both of them experience as they navigate their new feelings and accept how the emotions fit in their lives.

I didn’t like to feel anything. I was happy numb. But for some reason Bonnie Farraday sparked life back into my dead soul.

Bonnie brought back the music in Cromwell’s soul and it was beautiful, especially when she breaks down his walls. Then when Bonnie needs him the most, Cromwell is there for her. I loved his support and unconditional love as he helped her through some of the most difficult times of her life.

It’s not all happy and my heart hurt while reading, but the pain was worth it because the love is healing. Bonnie and Cromwell came into each other’s lives when they least expected it and they changed everything.

I was mesmerized by the music and colors, and the way they were combined was fantastic. The words painted beautiful pictures in my head with bursts of color and gorgeous lyrics. Add surprising twists and I was addicted. Overwhelmed by the feels and enamored with the romance, I could not put this book down. And as I read the finally words of the gorgeous and perfect epilogue, I couldn’t contain the love in my heart.

I had made many wishes in my life, but Cromwell had been the wish that I never made. The granted wish that, in the end, was the one I cherished most.
