Another great read from Jenny Holiday! The second book in the Bridesmaids Behaving Badly series, we are back with a fantastic bunch of friends as they are preparing for another wedding.

This is Wendy’s book – a best friend’s brother romance featuring Jane’s older brother, Noah. Grown up, mature, responsible Noah was always there for Jane and Wendy, caring and providing for them during their difficult childhoods, and though he never looked at Wendy as anything more than a little sister, she crushed on him hard. But he broke her heart without even realising it, and Wendy has been running from him, and pretty much all emotional attachments (apart from her girl posse) ever since.

Coming together for Jane and Cameron’s wedding puts Wendy and Noah all up in each other’s spaces for the first time in a really long time, and though Wendy still has feelings for Noah she tries her best to block it out. But Noah is finally seeing Wendy as a grown up and he’s wildly attracted to the little spitfire. It’s a friends-to-lovers with an enemies-to-lovers twist as these two bicker, banter and battle it out in the middle of preparations for Jane’s “low-key-but-not-really” wedding.

I really loved the set-up for this book. I love a best friend’s brother storyline, and kind-hearted caretaker (and charmingly clueless alpha) Noah is a great match for strong, independent Wendy, and their battle of wills is so entertaining! It gives their chemistry a fantastic edge, and the sexual tension builds with each and every encounter as they fight to contain their mad lust and figure out just what the hell it is between them.

The drama is low-key, which I appreciated, but they are both struggling with their pasts and how that impacted who they have become as adults. They’re both mature, successful and obviously highly intelligent, but they’re so deeply stuck, it takes them a while to break free, which means that the romance doesn’t really develop a lot. There is individual character development, I just would have liked to have seen them coming together sooner and working through everything together rather than the drawn out almost-love-story that is magically resolved at the very ending of the book. I know we’ll see more of them in the next book, but I feel like this one just needed a bit more build-up for me to really feel the emotion between them. But I did enjoy the story, and I loved seeing them get their HEA.

As for the other relationships in the book – fantastic. This group of friends is just gorgeous. I love seeing the shifting dynamics between them as things change and men come into their lives (the Wendy/Cameron moments in this one were just gorgeous!), and watching them all interact with each other is so much fun. Jane, in particular, had me in hysterics as both a bride-to-be and as a devoted, yet still irritating, little sister.

I really enjoyed this book. For me, it didn’t pack the punch of the first one, but it’s still a really fun read, and I’m looking forward to Gia’s book up next!
