A fun and super cute single dad/nanny romance between a somewhat closed off billionaire widower and a lively, spirited girl who is trying to figure out her life.

Ruby is the best friend of Drew from Make You Mine, and while this book does follow on from that one, you can read this as a standalone – just beware some minor spoilers for Drew’s book. Ruby’s career has stalled, she still lives with her mother and she can’t get herself out of debt, but it looks like her luck has changed when a chance encounter ends with her being offered a job by the hottest man she has ever seen as the nanny to his four-year-old daughter

Remington ‘Remi’ Key had everything he ever wanted, and lost it all upon the death of his wife. For four years he has been raising their daughter on his own, with some assistance from his mother-in-law, but he otherwise lives a mostly solitary life. He struck gold in IT, making him rich beyond his wildest dreams, but has been floundering ever since, and he knows that he needs help with his daughter so that he can get his career back on track. But he never expected his random job offer to a beautiful stranger to change his world so completely.

*Let’s suspend belief for a moment that a man offers an attractive drunk stranger in a bar a job as his beloved daughter’s nanny, and carry on and enjoy the story ;)*

From the moment Ruby and Remi cross paths, sparks are flying, and their instant attraction sets the mood for the chemistry-filled journey of sexual tension that is of this story. They want each other… bad. And though in their heads they know they need to keep things professional, we (and they) know that it’s never going to happen, which leads to all sorts of fun and flirty shenanigans as they try to fight the inevitable.

Have I lost my freakin’ mind? I just spent the last several minutes rubbing one out while I dreamed of screwing my new boss…
That does it. I can’t work for Remington Key. He’s too hot.

Though they don’t really fight too hard, which is just as well, because they are absolutely sizzling together! And it’s so easy between them. Yes, they have hurdles in their way, but their attraction blossoms and grows naturally and without any effort, and watching them try to fight it while also
hopelessly falling for each other is sweet, fun and beautifully heartfelt.

Having her with me gave me the strength to believe again. She believes in me, and it makes me believe in myself.
She brought me back to life.

But while Remi is happily losing himself in all that he is feeling, Ruby struggles with the fact that she is his employee. The line between lover and employee is messy, with them crossing back and forth as they figure it all out. We know how it’s going to end, it’s just a matter of sitting back and waiting for it all unfold, and I loved watching it happen.

And let’s not forget little Lillie who deserves a well-deserved shout out because she is just adorable beyond words. With her singing, playfulness and love for all things Disney, she is an absolute delight. Her love for her father, her relationship with Ruby, her inquisitiveness and spirit are beautifully portrayed, and every moment with her is just golden.

This is such a cute read. It’s light and fluffy with just enough drama to create depth and keep it interesting. There is a happy ending…

I really enjoyed this read, and I’m looking forward to Remi’s best friend, Stephen’s story – a marriage of convenience – coming up next.
