Eliahn

Getting pregnant after a booze cruise hookup was not what any parent wanted to hear, so I picked up my entire life and moved to Paris to start over. Six years later, I was ready to go home.

I was a single mom and the only thing I knew about my son’s dad was his name—Luca. I didn’t need to know anything else.

The universe had other ideas because on our second day back home, the man came crashing back into my life.

Luca

Attending a welcome back party for my boss’s daughter wasn’t how I wanted to spend my Sunday. But walking in and seeing my hookup from a cruise six years ago knocks me on my ass.

It was a weekend of fun and now I’m seeing a pair of eyes, identical to mine, staring right at me. The boy standing next to her is my son.

Now we’re living next door to each other and attempting to co-parent something that would be easy to do if the pull that brought us together wasn’t still there making things more complicated.

For six years she haunted my dreams, now she’s haunting my every waking moment.
I let her get away once, now I want to make her mine.

This time, permanently.

Only one thing left to do. I have to tempt the hookup.

Review

4 stars

Sweet, fun, sexy and gorgeously romantic, it’s such a great read. Easy and fun with no angst or drama, I sat down and read it in one afternoon, and I loved it!

That blurb! It’s Natasha Madison, so I knew I’d be reading this one as soon as I could get my hands on it, but that blurb sucked me right in and I have been desperate for this book, and it was just what I wanted!

This book does tie in with the other Tempt books – Luca works with Noah (Tempt the Playboy), and his assistant is Lauren (Tempt the Boss) – and though those connections are fun for fans, they’re not key to the story with only limited character crossover and this book can absolutely standalone.

Luca and Eliahn met as college students on board a ‘booze cruise’. They connect instantly and share an incredible four days together, but knowing it can’t go anywhere they keep it to first names only and don’t share anything too personal. But their short time together will leave a lasting impact on both of their lives.

Seven years later, Luca is a successful lawyer who is married to his career and Eli is a single mother who has spent the last six years living in Paris. It’s now time for her to come home, and when Luca’s boss invites him to his house for a welcome home party for his daughter, they’re about to come crashing back into each other’s lives.

I turn my head, and my eyes meet the blue eyes that have haunted my fucking dreams since I walked off that boat. Her long blond hair is tied on the top of her head in a ponytail. She is looking around, and when she finally turns and her eyes meet mine, her eyes go wide. Her face goes pale, and then I look down at the little boy holding her hand, and I take a step back. He may have his mother’s looks, but those are my eyes.

I was tingling with excitement and anticipation as Luca and Eli are reunited. I could feel all that they were feeling, and I was desperate to see where their journey would take them (especially as it turns out that Eli and her son, Aiden, have moved into the house right next door to Luca. OMG, win!). It’s emotional, honest and raw, and they handle it functionally and sensibly, and their feelings for each other are right out there.

“I haven’t dated in years. Seven to be exact.” He gets closer and closer. “So I don’t have a girlfriend. Only because they had to live up to this woman I met seven years ago.”

The chemistry is fantastic and the sexual tension builds beautifully as they fall hard and fast. They have a lot to deal with, but they are absolutely devoted to each other, and their son, and though it moves fast, it feels natural, it’s intense and passionate with all the feels, and I loved seeing them be so open with each other.

“What if it doesn’t work out?” I ask, trying to swallow, but the lump in my throat is suddenly huge.
“Baby,” he says softly. “Do you think we went seven years without each other to finally finding each other for us not to work out?” he asks, and I shrug. “It’s you, Eli,” he says. “It’s always been you. Even when you didn’t even know.”

*dreamy sigh*

Things more seriously fast between them. From the moment Eli and Aiden enter his life, Luca is all in, and Eli is more than happy to just go along with it. Honestly, parts of it felt a little unrealistic with how quickly it all unfolded, but I was caught up in the chemistry and excitement, and in the joy of seeing this little family together, and I just went with it.

Little Aiden is a delightful addition to the story. Sweet, funny, charmingly innocent and blissfully accepting of all of the changes in his life, he is absolutely gorgeous and his relationships with his mum, dad and grandparents is just adorable.

For those who are not fans of the ‘surprise child’ twist, don’t worry – hidden pregnancy books usually have me running for the hills, but this is the way to do it.

Spoiler
Eli and Luca knew nothing about each other beyond their first names. They tried to find each other, but had no way to track each other down, so there was nothing malicious, cruel or secretive, they just weren’t able to reconnect. And that’s probably why things move so quickly in the present, they’ve missed so much and they’re just so keen to get on with becoming a part of each other’s lives.

We get to see glimpses of their time together through memories and flashbacks, but this book is all about the present and watching Luca and Eli find the happy ending that they always wanted. It’s fun, easy and so freaking romantic, with a gorgeous epilogue, and I finished this book with a big grin on my face.

I loved it – 4 stars.
