Blurb

The feud between Weston Lockwood and me started at the altar.

Only neither of us attended the wedding, and the nuptials happened decades before either of us was born.

Our grandfathers had been best friends and business partners, at least up until my grandfather’s wedding day—when his bride-to-be blurted out she couldn’t marry him because she was also in love with Weston‘s grandfather.

The two men spent years fighting over Grace Copeland, who also happened to be their third business partner.  But in the end, neither man could steal half of her heart away from the other.

Eventually, they all went their separate ways. Our grandfathers married other women, and the two men became one of the biggest business rivals in history.

Our fathers continued the family tradition of feuding. And then Weston and I did, too.

For the most part, we kept as much distance as possible.

Until the day the woman who started the feud died—and unexpectedly left one of the most valuable hotels in the world to our grandfathers to share.

Now I’m stuck in a hotel with the man I was born to hate, trying to unravel the mess our families inherited.

As usual, it didn’t take long for us to be at each other’s throats.

Weston Lockwood was everything I hated: tall, smart, cocky, and too gorgeous for his own good.

We were fire and ice.

But that shouldn’t be an issue. Our families were used to being at war. There was just one minor problem, though. Every time Weston and I fought, we somehow wound up in bed.

Review

4.5 stars!

Vi Keeland has delivered a blisteringly hot enemies-to-lovers romance that is full of laughs, feels, and epic chemistry. I devoured this book, completely swept up in the story, and I freaking loved it!

Sophia and Weston are from rival families who have made their fortunes in the hotel industry. The war between their families dates back to their grandfathers who were both in love with the same woman. It didn’t end well for them, and the two families have fought ever since. Now, Sophia and Weston are brought together to run the same hotel as their families enter a bidding war to see who will take final ownership.

It’s a situation that screaming for conflict, made all the more complicated because Sophia and Weston have history, sharing an incredible, hate-sex-filled night together as teenagers that creates all kinds of tension and a whole lot of chemistry.

“You remember what I look like naked, don’t you, Feef? I’ve filled in nicely since eighteen. Whenever you’re ready, we can go back to my room, and I’ll treat you to a little looksee.”

Weston is the kind of Keeland character that I love! Confident and cocky with a wicked sense of humour, a dirty mind and a whole lot of alpha, so of course I fell in mad love with him. The man is a filthy beast, and he makes no secret of the fact that he wants Sophia back in his bed.

Sophia is strong and sensible, and is determined to prove to her family that she’s capable, and she has no intention of caving to Weston’s games. But there’s only so much flirting and sexy teasing a girl can stand.

“Weston Lockwood was positively sinful. He had a jawline that would make a sculptor weep and eyes that were perpetually undressing me. But it was his crooked, dirty smile that always did me in.”

OMG, these two are on fire! The sex is hot, dirty and full of passion (and a little bit of kink), and you can feel the tension between them. They seriously get off on antagonising each other, and it’s so much fun watching them rile each other up only to literally bang out their frustrations.

Of course, things begin to change and the enemies become friends who become so much more. It’s easy and natural, and it flows without effort. I loved watching these two open up to each other as their relationship progressed. It’s realistic, with ups and downs, and it was gorgeous watching things change between them.

But there is drama, there are secrets, and there are hurdles that must be overcome before they can get their HEA. It’s an exciting ride watching them work through it all, and I was feeling all that they were going through as they figure it all out.

“Before I met you, I had no purpose. It didn’t take long after you stormed into my life to realize the reason I’d been lost was because you hadn’t found me yet. My purpose in life is to love you.”

This is such a fun read. Full of fantastic chemistry and sexual tension, banter that had me laughing out loud, scenes that had me fanning myself, and heartwrenching emotion, I loved Sophie and Weston’s story so much.

4.5 stars!

The audiobook is narrated by Andie Arndt and Sebastian York, and they are amazing. Weston is exactly the kind of character that York plays so well, it’s such a great book to listen to!
