Would you spend one wild night with a sexy stranger?

I wasn’t looking for love… more like a one-night stand.

Hey, a woman has needs. And it couldn’t possibly end any worse than my last relationship.

If catching my long-term boyfriend getting plowed by his handsome best friend wasn’t bad enough… the fact that they were in our bed should be.

So, yeah. I’m good with one wild night with a complete stranger.

I just didn’t expect him to be so damn hot! I couldn’t tear my eyes away—even when he caught me staring. It was as if an invisible force held me captive in his lust-filled gaze.

We agreed, just one night. But the next morning I woke up in an empty bed feeling more alone than I expected.

Little did I know I would see my mystery man again. But the next time we would be standing beside our best friends as they said, “I Do.”

Not only was my one-night stand the best man… it turns out he’s the cocky lead singer of popular band Phenix.

No wonder he rocked my world, he’s had plenty of practice.

3.5 stars

This is a cute little read, sexy and fun with a nice amount of emotion. It’s part of K. Bromberg’s Everyday Heroes world, which I haven’t read, and this can easily be read as a standalone.

Alaina has had seriously bad luck with men and is on the prowl for a hot one night stand, and she gets it when she eyes a sexy stranger at a bar, they share some intense eye-fucking, and she takes him home for a night of mind-blowing sex. Though they agreed it would be one night only, Alaina is hurt when she wakes up to an empty bed, but life goes on, right?

And then… surprise! It turns out her sexy stranger is the best man to her maid-of-honor at their respective best friends’ wedding. And not only that, but he is the lead guitarist of a popular rock band, and a known player. Awkward!

Enzo is thrilled to see Alaina again. Their night together rocked his world, and he was gutted that he had to leave her bed early. And although they agreed to one night, he knows it’s not enough for him. And with wedding activities imminent, he’s determined not to let Alaina get away.

There’s not a chance in hell I can ignore my attraction to the maddening woman. It’s too fucking strong.

It’s a really fun set-up, and I loved the dynamic between these two! Their chemistry is palpable, with great flirting, banter and bickering, but Alaina tries her best to keep Enzo at bay, now knowing his reputation and wanting no part of it. She’s ready for a relationship, and Enzo has a battle on his hands to convince her that he wants the same.

I loved watching Enzo fight for Alaina, and it doesn’t take too long for her to give him the chance he wants, and the progression of their relationship is lots of fun, and seriously sexy. They’re so freaking gorgeous together! But they do have some hurdles to overcome, and there is some drama which made me a bit twitchy, but the resolution is gorgeous, and leads to a really sweet HEA, and even an epilogue to finish everything off really nicely.

“We’re forever, baby. Nothing and no one can take our forever away from us.”

There are cameos from the couples from the Everyday Heroes world, and there seem to be stories already established for Alaina’s friends, which may tie in to another series? But as I said, this one reads perfectly fine as a standalone. The introduction of the members of Enzo’s band, Phenix, makes me wonder whether Grayson will continue on with a series for them, and if she does, I’m definitely on board for those.

I enjoyed this one. It’s a short read so the story moves quickly, but she manages to bring emotion and get me invested in Alaina and Enzo as a couple. I could have done with a little less extreme drama, but I was happy with how it all ended up.

3.5 stars.
