It’s Christmas, and the Reed brothers and all of their family and friends are descending upon Lake Fisher for the holidays, providing us with a great opportunity to catch up with the boys that I love so dearly.

This is definitely not a standalone.  It’s one for the fans, with each chapter written in a different character’s POV, giving us a quick peek into their lives.  It’s only focussing on the original Reed Brothers and their girls, though the Zero girls and all of the extras from the follow on books (which I haven’t read) do appear.  There are also chapters from Edward (from book #11, Don’t Doubt) and Seth (squee – Seth!) and, in a series mash-up, we also see Jake and Katie from Feels Like Summertime (the first of the Lake Fisher books).

The family is coming together and doing what they do best – hanging out and being there for each other, and spreading the Christmas love to those who need it most.  It’s a bit cheesy in places, but it stays true to the series, and it’s got a really sweet Christmasy vibe.

I admit, I lost a bit of interest in this series when it spun-off away from the original boys, so I was looking forward to catching up and seeing where they are all at, but even after reading this book I don’t have a clear picture of the family group.  There are so many kids, with not a lot of detail about who belongs to who, and how all of the family groups are doing now, so many years after we first met them.  That was a bit disappointing, but I still enjoyed seeing them all together, still happily in love with their girls, and enjoying each other as they always have.  Plus, there’s a fantastic little bonus for Logan and Emily fans!!

It’s a cute, short read, and I’m glad I read this one.  I’m feeling the need for a series reread very soon!

The series then spins off to feature another family group – though still with close tie-ins to the Reed boys.  We haven’t read these ones yet, but look forward to checking them out!
