The Bookworm Box is proud to present Two More Days, our second anthology installment. Much like the first installment, Two More Days is an exciting and unique reading experience with contributions from several of our charity’s featured authors. Each author was given the same first sentence. Where they took that sentence was completely up to them.

Every story is different. No story is related.

The only thing these stories have in common is their starting point. Each author showcased in this anthology was featured in The Bookworm Box in 2020. Each author has graciously donated their story so that 100% of profits from this anthology will be going to Kulturecity and Rainn.

  • KultureCity is the nation’s leading nonprofit on sensory accessibility and acceptance for those with invisible disabilities such as PTSD, Autism, and mental health challenges, to name a few.
  • RAINN is the nation’s largest anti-sexual violence organization leading the national effort to eradicate sexual violence through programs to provide direct support for survivors, educate the public, prevent sexual violence, and ensure that perpetrators are brought to justice.

Sincerely Dane by Ilsa Madden-Mills

4 stars!

Sincerely, Dane is a sweet little treat that gives us more of Piper and Dane who we met in Dear Ava. They have been friends for ages and have never crossed the line to being more but a scavenger hunt during Halloween may give them the push they need to take a chance.

It’s sweet and funny and I felt Piper and Dane’s friendship. Their chemistry is palpable and I believed their attraction and how they didn’t quite know how to be honest about it what they we both feeling. When they open it, it’s a “finally” moment and I loved it. I wouldn’t have minded it being longer or even a full-length novel. You can definitely read it as a standalone but I loved it’s connection to Dear Ava which I absolutely adored.

Office Hours
by Alessandra Torre

4 stars!

Office Hours is a forbidden student/teacher treat that really brings on the heat and I devoured it. Laney needs to reschedule her exam since she is supposed to be on a plane out of town during the scheduled test time. Her first attempt to change it via email was a big fail so she decides to meet with her teacher in person.Laney knows exactly what she is doing when she goes to Mr. Miller’s office hours. This time she won’t take no for an answer.

This short is seriously steamy. It sets the stage, gives us the buildup we want, and then brings on all the heat. I’m so glad we get both POVs because I loved getting in Mr. Miller’s head after Laney sets the stage with her attraction. It made this taboo read more entertaining since we also know how he feels.

And that ending! Such a great set up for more *hint hint.* Whether it stays a short story or becomes a full length novel, one thing is for sure – these two are on fire

The Shelby
by Jewel E Ann

4 stars!

Wow. I had no idea what I was getting into when I started this novella. It is different from what I usually read but I loved it nonetheless.

I don’t even want to tell you what it is about because it would ruin it. I will say that I was sucked into the story from the start and was eager to see where it was going. And I had no idea what was coming. It’s twisted and entertaining but I wouldn’t change a thing. And can I just say I love the ending! It’s perfect for this short!!

What If…
by K. Bromberg

4 stars!

Shyloh is about to marry the man of her dreams in four days and everything seems to be on track until a fortune teller puts a bug in her head. She brushes it off at first but then realizes her life might not be the one she wants when she is faced with a big “what if.”

I really enjoyed this quick read. It sets the scene for what could be an amazing second chance romance if this ends up being the start to a full-length novel.

There is second guessing when past collides with present and I loved Shyloh and Jake’s relationship.  It’s strong and never-ending even as years pass and it made me so warm inside. I loved it and would love more to their story.

Always Cake
by Max Monroe

4 stars!

Oh my goodness, what an adorable short. This novella is a friends-to-lovers romance that gave me exactly what I didn’t know I needed. I was hooked on Emily and Austin and they stole my heart.

The premise is basically like “My Best Friend’s Wedding”. Emily and Austin have been best friends forever, and they share the same birthday and always celebrate together. On their 21st birthday they made a pact that if they weren’t in a relationship by the time they are 35 then they would marry each other.

Their 35th birthday is fast approaching and Emily has to face the truth: she’s in love with Austin and needs to tell him now.

This story is so sweet and swoony, and also so much fun! It gave us lots of feels and history between Emily and Austin even though it’s a quick read. I was actually nervous leading up to their birthday. It’s amazing that I could be so invested after such a short time but I was and I loved it!!

I would love this show too be turned into a full-length novel. I’m dying for all of the details that Emily touched on and more. Such a fun read!
