4.5 stars!

Winnie is the youngest daughter of Mack and Frannie from Irresistible. She is all grown up and works at Cloverleigh Farms with her dad. She is quick to fall in love and, therefore, she has had her heart broken more than once. She swears of men and she seems to be doing well until a new neighbor moves in next door. He’s a hot firefighter and a single dad and she quickly discovers keeping her heart from falling may be harder than she thought.

I shut the front door, leaned against it, and squeezed my eyes shut.
Damn, he was handsome. My heart was still fluttering.
“It’s fine,” I told myself. “It’s fine that my new next door neighbor is a hot firefighter and single dad with muscled for days and dark, broody eyes. It’s fine, because
I am the boss of my feelings.”

I loved this story. Winnie smart, fun, and sweet, and she is determined to keep her heart under control when it comes to her sexy neighbor. Dex is so fantastic. He’s such a good dad just doing his best. His daughters are a riot and they bring Dex and a Winnie together when they end up going over to Winnie’s house. That introduction is just the start to an unexpected love story.

The attraction between Winnie and Dex is immediate and it cannot be denied. Winnie is young though and Dex has reservations. They are at different places in their life but since neither want a relationship, they decide on being friends-with-benefits and they really turn up the heat. They try hard to keep feelings to themselves but they are just so good together.

I love that this story has some serious moments but that it’s mostly sweet and fun. I think the pacing is great and I really felt the feelings that Winnie and Dex wrestled with. There is little drama but still has a bunch of emotion and I loved it! I have to add that

Overall, I adored this story. I loved getting cameos from other Cloverleigh Farms characters and I am so excited to get more of this series!!
