Blurb

No one can ever have Keaton Meyer.

Least of all me.

The brooding construction manager is a man of myth and legend, rarely seen in the wild. Once upon a time, he was the star quarterback, the smiling homecoming king, royalty in our small town. Until tragedy struck. And then he disappeared completely.

Now he’s resurfaced, and I can’t keep my eyes off him.

He’s an island surrounded by lava, bound by a desert and guarded by dragons. I don’t stand a sunshine’s chance in a hail storm.

Our siblings disagree and are out to prove it, nudging us into each other in the hopes we’ll fall. But with our town in tumult and the two of us firmly in the middle, nothing between us is easy. And when he’s faced with an impossible decision, I learn the truth of what I already knew.

No one can have Keaton Meyer.

And I have the broken heart to prove it.

Review

4.5 stars!

I adore the Blum’s Bees series and am so happy to get more. On the Honey Side feature’s Daisy Blum and Keaton Meyer. Daisy and Keaton have both suffered unimaginable loss. Keaton lost his wife and hasn’t been able to open his heart to anyone else. Daisy also lost her significant but where Daisy has tried to move on, Keaton has turned into more of a recluse.

The Blum sisters have experienced heartbreak when it comes to love and think there is a curse placed on them. However, since Jo was able to break the so called curse, maybe there is hope for the other sisters.

Daisy and Keaton live in the same small Texas town but rarely run into each other. The town has been facing problems and when Daisy and Keaton come together in hopes to help the homeless population, they start to get know each other but friends is all they seem to be. Both Daisy and Keaton’s families are pushing them to take a chance, so they are put in each other’s paths time after time on purpose, it’s hilarious and cute.

I love how Daisy and Keaton tiptoe around their feelings not quite knowing what to do. It’s endearing and realistic. I felt their attraction grow and their chemistry really sparks. I felt the heartbreak they both shoulder and I loved that they could relate on some level to the pain they felt and still feel.

I’d been starved for affection for so long, I’d forgotten how it felt to be loved.

They also share a mutual love from their town and I love how they fought for the things that mean the most to them. There is very little drama when it comes to these two even if some people want to see their relationship fail. The small roadblock is understandable and doesn’t last long.

I love the supporting characters and the strength of the relationships, and how the whole town plays such a big part in the story. I enjoyed heading back to Lindenbach, Texas and can’t wait for more! Poppy’s story is next!

About the Author

Staci has been a lot of things up to this point in her life — a graphic designer, an entrepreneur, a seamstress, a clothing and handbag designer, a waitress. Can’t forget that. She’s also been a mom, with three little girls who are sure to grow up to break a number of hearts. She’s been a wife, though she’s certainly not the cleanest, or the best cook. She’s also super, duper fun at a party, especially if she’s been drinking whiskey. When she’s not writing, she’s reading, sleeping, gaming, or designing graphics.
