The second book in the Broken Destiny series, this book picks up shortly after the end of the first. Ivy is recovering from the events of the last book, and still coming to terms with being a supernatural badass, and she’s doing it without her protector, Adrian, by her side. But when she finds herself in danger again, Adrian comes storming back into her life, and just in time, because she is now tasked with finding the second hallowed weapon which will fix the walls between the demon and human realms.

And so, we set off on another adventure with these two (and their friends), as they search for the all-powerful staff of Moses. Jumping between human and demon realms, from country to country, and facing all kinds of evil along the way, it’s an exciting ride. And it’s made all the more exciting because Adrian has had enough of keeping his distance from Ivy, and he’s determined to win her back and claim her for his own.

After the tease of the first book, I was here for the romance, and Frost did not disappoint! Adrian has a lot to make up for, and he grovels like a champ, and the love story develops gorgeously as they come to realise exactly what they mean to each other. It’s honest, sexy, and so freaking swoony, and I loved watching them come together!

And just in time, because evil is coming, and Ivy is the one who has to stop it. It’s another exciting adventure with new characters and old, and I really enjoyed the action as Ivy and Adrian figure out the clues and literally fight to save their world.

Along the way, Ivy learns more about her powers and the new world she is inhabiting, and more secrets are revealed that will change everything. And in the background of it all, there’s still the prophecy that Adrian is destined to betray her. It’s action right up until the end of the book, and I really enjoyed the ride!

The stage is set for a really intriguing finish, and I’m looking forward to seeing how it’s all going to end in the third and final book of the trilogy.
