OH MY GOODNESS!! I love this story! Lauren Blakely knows how to write an charming rom com that has everything I love. It’s fun, flirty, and fantastic with a whole lot of heart and heat. I devoured it and enjoyed every page!
The Virgin Next Door features Veronica and Milo. Milo was hurt by his ex and is not looking for a relationship. Veronica is the writer of Tales of a Naughty Virgin. They meet one day and Veronica would have loved to get to know him more but neither got the other’s name. Since that day, Milo has starred in her column as Mister Sexy Pants. When they meet again, it’s an embarrassing moment and again neither get a name or number. Then as fate would have it Veronica is in search of a job and winds up at Milo’s shop, Bikes and Blooms. Turns out she is really good at the job but since she is now his employee, anything that could have happened between them is now off the table….or is it?!
Veronica and Milo are fantastic together. Veronica is a hoot but she is also so smart and driven. She had an oops (which was funny even though I felt so bad for her) at her old job and now needs to take a breather while she waits for another publishing job. In the meantime, she continues her very popular column and does an amazing job at Bikes and Blooms. She also is very attracted to Milo but tries so hard to not let him know he is the star of her column.
Milo is doing great at his shop and isn’t looking for love after his last failed relationship. Veronica is a pleasant surprise. He is wildly attracted to her but they keep things platonic. Then circumstances change and they decide to work through Veronica’s “list” on her column. When they go for it, they really go for it. I love the banter and the chemistry that sizzles between them. I love how sweet and swoony Milo is and I love that Veronica wasn’t afraid to ask for what she wanted. She was true to herself and the two were great together. When feelings sneak up on them, neither are prepared and I loved how good they were together.
I love when there is little drama and this story has just a enough to stir things up but nothing is over the top or out of place. It’s entertaining and I loved how things played out!
Overall, I loved this book. It’s the first book in the new Dating Games series and I want more!!
