A sexy firefighter. A much younger Nanny. The heat between them could burn down a small country. He doesn’t believe in forever. And she won’t settle for anything less.

Jace King is a smoking hot firefighter, a single dad and my new boss.

He’s also the most beautiful man I’ve ever laid eyes on.

It’s totally fine to secretly crush on the guy you Nanny for, right?

Did I mention that he’s also a decade older than me, works with my dad and he’s a close family friend?

If you looked up OFF LIMITS in the dictionary, you’;d find an eight by ten photo of my sexy boss.

But something happens every time we’re in a room together.

The attraction is almost overpowering.

Jace is insistent that we can’t act on it.

And I’ve always been a rule follower…

but maybe sometimes rules are meant to be broken.

5 sweet, swoony and heartfelt stars

This is such a beautiful story! A heartfelt friends-to-lovers, single dad romance that made me laugh, cry and swoon. I fell in mad love with these characters, and I absolutely loved it!

This is the third book in the Honey Mountain series, and is the story of Ashlan, the youngest of the five Thomas sisters who will get books in the series. Each book can be read as a standalone (but don’t miss the earlier books, they’re fantastic!), and this series is becoming a fave!

Ashlan has just graduated college and returned to her small home town of Honey Mountain, with dreams of being a writer, but otherwise unsure of what to do with her life. So she’s thrilled when family friend, Jace, offers her a job as nanny to his two young daughters. Jace is a fireman and works with Ashlan’s father and brother-in-law. They’ve known each other for years, and she already adores his two little girls, so it seems like the perfect arrangements. Except for the inconvenient crush she has on her new boss.

Jace is a good guy with a huge heart, whose whole world is his little girls. His marriage was not a happy one, and he’s glad to be away from his toxic ex-wife who left without looking back. He has his hands full juggling to jobs and two girls who are struggling a bit and desperate for some stability, and Ashlan is just what his family needs. What he doesn’t need is to be feeling the types of things he is feeling about his young new employee.

There was nothing about this girl that I didn’t like. I respected her. I admired her. I adored her. And I fucking wanted her something fierce.

There’s something between these two from the very beginning. It’s a friendship, but they both know there’s more there, and they both know it’s big. But while Ash is all too keen to explore their epic chemistry, Jace isn’t. He’s worried about their age gap (he’s 32, she’s 22), and he’s worried that he has too much baggage without anything to offer her. I could absolutely understand where he was coming from, and my heart ached for him, but that doesn’t stop the occasional slip and some wildly inappropriate flirting.

“A kiss would never be enough for me,” … I reached for chin and rubbed the pad of my thumb over her bottom lip. “Not even fucking close.”

Ash is a rockstar through the whole thing. She’s devoted to his girls, and does her job, giving Jace space, while also making sure he knows how she feels, and that the ball is in his court. She does it with confidence, maturity and grace, and I just loved her.

“You’re wrong about me, you know that?” She kissed me once more, hard and fast before climbing off my lap. “I don’t give up that easily. This isn’t just an attraction for me.”
“What is it then?”
She held on to my hand as she looked down at me. “It’s everything. But if I’m the only one that see it, there isn’t much I can do about it.”

The build-up is great, the chemistry sizzles, and they work through it playfully yet earnestly, and when they take the big step, I was feeling it all with them, and cheering my little heart out.

“I didn’t think I was good enough. I still don’t. But I don’t know how to walk away from this. I don’t fucking want to.”

This is such a gorgeous romance! It’s real and honest, and it develops so naturally. There’s lots of sweet and swoony moments, and I loved that we got to see SO much together time between them as they give themselves over to all they are feeling for each other.

All of this plays out as Ashlan is looking after Jace’s little girls, who are freaking adorable! 5 and 3, they have their own little personalities that bring so much to the story, and their relationships with their dad, with Ash and with each other, is so freaking precious. These kids had me laughing so many times, and the love that Jace has for them absolutely made me melt. I adored them!

And then comes the ominous moment that I was waiting for – the inevitable drama, which in this case brings works really well in the story, and definitely brings the feels. It’s not pointless, it’s real, it’s completely gutwrenching and its wonderfully written with so much emotion. I read with a pounding heart and tears streaming down my face. It was early hours of the morning, and I couldn’t put the book down, desperate to see how it was all going to work out. It finishes beautifully of course, for a very well-deserved happy ending that left me feeling happy and completely satisfied.

“If you love someone, there’s no running from it. And when you find it, it sure is worth the fight.”

Ash’s sisters are a huge part of her life, so of course they’re a big part of the story. I loved seeing them again, and seeing the support and love between the girls. And they’re bringing their husbands along with them. Niko and Hawk already have a relationship with Jace, and I loved seeing them have his back so many times through the story. The group all together is fantastic, and I love escaping into this series.

This is such a gorgeous read. It’s fun, sweet, heartfelt, emotional and beautifully romantic, and I absolutely loved it.

5 stars!
