This is a great little short story that I picked up on Audible. It’s a brother’s-best-friend, enemies-to-lovers story that is fun, sexy, and gorgeously romantic, and I loved it!

Nica is in love with her brother’s best friend, Adam, but misunderstandings, an overprotective big brother, and a disturbingly dodgy decision lead to an epic falling out when she is 16 and he is 18. She is left heartbroken and furious, and cuts off all contact with him. Ten years later Nica finds herself temporarily homeless, and it’s Adam – now a huge Hollywood star – that comes to her rescue, allowing her to move into his home. Their first time seeing each other in ten years is awkward and full of tension, but all of that chemistry and emotion is still very much there. And when Adam reveals that Nica’s feelings all those years ago were, and still are, reciprocated, it’s on.

I really enjoyed this book. It’s short, but still brings the feels and the chemistry, and I loved seeing Nica and Adam find their way back to each other in a way that they both wanted so badly. There is flirting and banter, swoony declarations and sexy time, and there’s even some drama when Nica’s brother gets involved. I would have loved for this story to be longer than it was, but it works well as a short, and I finished it with a smile on my face.

The audiobook is narrated by Savannah Peachwood, who narrates a number of Shen’s other books. I really like her, and think she does a great job bringing the story to life.

Loved this one – 4 stars.
