4.5 stars!

The third and final book in the Witches of the Island series, this book delivers the epic ending that I was hoping for. From the moment I started this emotional urban fantasy trilogy, I have been completely captivated, and this book finishes off the series beautifully! It’s intense, exciting and unpredictable, with lots of action, drama and emotion, and of course a gorgeous love story, and I loved it!

This book picks up immediately after the last one, so if you’re a bit hazy on details, I recommend refreshing your memory. I wanted full immersion and ended up rereading both books 1 and 2 before diving into this one, and I loved being back in this world with these amazing characters!

The build-up over the last two books has all led to this… The demon and fae queens have been found, and the prophesised war is about to commence, and Cassie is right in the middle of it. But she never could have predicted the circumstances that she finds herself in – holding the fate of the very world in her hands, surrounded by a random bunch of allies, but without her fae love by her side.

Full of twists and surprises, shocking reveals, devastating betrayals and surprising alliances, this is a wildly intense ride from start to finish. Add in action scenes full of magic and supernatural badassery, and one brave and determined young witch who is only just coming to understand her powers, and it’s all happening!

And, of course, there is the romance. After the epically swoony love-fest of the last book, and then its shocking ending, there are even more twists in store, and I thought it was so well done! Cassie and Orion are forced to deal with wildly unexpected and extreme circumstances which bring an additional sense of drama to the story, and I loved watching it all unfold! And not only do we get the opportunity to see more of their past, but once again, we witness what a spectacular couple they are. True soulmates in every sense.

“There are some loves too strong to be denied”

Written with heart, humor and heartwrenching drama, this book kept me on the edge of my seat, madly hypothesising where the story was going, but never knowing what was going to happen next. It’s full of action, intrigue and romance, with so many wonderfully entertaining characters that you cannot help but love (and a few that you will love to hate), and it’s an exciting and satisfying ending to the trilogy, and such a great read.
