When two worlds crossover. From the This Is Series and The Southern Series.

Addison
I never thought I would see him again.
Especially while I was planning someone else’s wedding—yet there he was holding hands with his girlfriend.
Our one night was wild and passionate; I could never forget him because it changed my life.
Now he’s here—and the result of our one night is twirling in a princess dress at our feet.

Stefano
I didn’t make mistakes.
I was the one you called in when you needed answers.
I was cutthroat but they didn’t pay me to be nice.
I was in control every single second.
The only time I let my guard down was five years ago.
If I thought seeing the woman I could never forget again would throw me off—it’s nothing like seeing our daughter for the first time.

This is a sweet read, a sort-of-second-chance romance for a couple five years after a one night stand. With a surprise baby (now a four year old little girl) and one smitten hero, this is a fun and swoonily romantic story that blends some of my favourite characters across Natasha Madison’s interwoven series (though you can read this as a standalone).

Stefano is the son of Vivienne and Markos from This Is Love (This Is, #3). He’s travelled to the wedding of his ‘almost-cousin’ Matthew to Sofia (their story was the last book in this series, Mine to Take), and his whole world shifts when he lays eyes on the wedding co-ordinator – a one-night stand from years ago, and one of his most cherished memories… and her four year old daughter who looks exactly like him.

Addison was never a really a one-night stand kind of girl, but she made the exception with Stefano, and the two of them shared one special night together before she quickly left in the morning. When she discovered that she was pregnant, she had no way of tracking him down, so she raised little Avery on her own in the most difficult of circumstances. She’s finally starting to get her life on track, starting with a new job that she loves, when Stefano comes back into her life.

The big reveal happens pretty early on in the book, and I loved the emotion! The anticipation, the drama, the feels are all fantastic, and my heart was pounding as I was feeling it all. Stefano completely stole my heart when he is instantly smitten with the daughter he didn’t know about, and he immediately uproots his entire life to be there for her. And more than just to get to know his daughter, but to take his second shot with the woman he has been unable to forget.

It’s a beautifully sweet and heartfelt story, starting with Stefano getting to know princess-mad Avery, and the scenes with them together are just gorgeous.

Avery just looks at me, tilting her head to the side. “Are you my dad?”
I swallow down the lump in my throat before I say the words. “I’m your dad.”

Addison is open and fully supportive in bringing Stefano into Avery’s life, and though she’s hesitant to put her own heart on the line, she welcomes him into their world. And Stefano is one determined man, and his huge heart, sense of protectiveness and need to make up for lost time keep the story moving at a great pace as he goes all in to get his girls.

It was my job to protect her and Avery, and I didn’t do my job … I’m going to do everything in my power to make her whole again.

It’s romantic and swoony with great build up, and when the time comes, the sexy time is smoking. I enjoyed watching these two pick up where they left off and fall so naturally and easily together.

“It’s you.” He bends and whispers in my ear, “It’s always going to be you.” … “He leans in to kiss my lips softly. “Avery and you”

Little Avery is a big part of the story, as she should be, and she is just a delight. Confident and cute, with an obsession with all things princess, her interactions with her parents, and newly discovered grandparents, is so gorgeous to see.

As always, the family is all heavily involved. Of course, we see lots of Vivienne and Markos, which I loved, because they haven’t really featured since their own book. Markos is beautiful as the supportive father and grandfather, and Vivienne is hilarious a they accept this huge change to their lives with open arms.

“Umm, excuse me,” Vivienne says, holding up her hand. “I will not be a grandmother.” My stomach sinks so fast, but only until a smile fills her face. “I’ll be Glammy like a glamorous grandmother,” she says to Avery. “If you want, you can call me Glammy Vivienne or just Vivienne. It’s as you wish, ma puce.” She then turns to look at Markos.
“And he can be GILF.”

Matthew and Max make a welcome appearance, and I freaking love the scenes of them together with Casey! And then there are the cousins, aunts and uncles that make this massive family and all of its blended dynamics so much fun.

Between Stefano and the family, their overwhelming love and efforts to accept Addison and Avery into the family is a little bit OTT, and honestly, I would have been freaked out if I was Addison, but it’s all a part of this family’s charm. They love openly and they love big, holding nothing back, and their completely extra lives are very entertaining.

I enjoyed this one. It’s such a cute read, and after meeting the hero for the next book, I’m excited to continue on with the series.

3.5 stars.

About the Author

When her nose isn’t buried in a book, or her fingers flying across a keyboard writing, she’s in the kitchen creating gourmet meals. You can find her, in four inch heels no less, in the car chauffeuring kids, or possibly with her husband scheduling his business trips. It’s a good thing her characters do what she says, because even her Labrador doesn’t listen to her…
