Max Monroe has a knack for writing hilariously sweet love stories and Call Me Anytime delivers just that. It’s a laugh-out-loud romance that mixes in some mystery, heat, and of course, heart.

Hannah is trying to make ends meet while helping with her mother who has early-onset Alzheimer’s. She had to quit college and get a job, so when she accidentally stumbles upon an opening as a sex phone operator at Call Me Anytime, she can’t say no to the money, even if she is so far out of her element. She’s a virgin and has no idea how to talk to people in that line of work but vows to make it work.

Dominic Dunn is a detective with the Metro Nashville PD investigating a murder of a sex line operator. His investigation leads him to Hannah who is the newest operator of the Ruby line, the same line that the murdered girl previously operated. Working together, Dominic and Hannah my race against the clock and track down the killer before there is another victim.

I really enjoyed this story. I thought the main characters were well written, the secondary characters added so much fun to the story, and the plot was well developed. I would have liked a little bit more of the mystery and investigation, but overall, the pace of the story kept me either turning pages of the book or listening to the audiobook at all times.

I liked the time Hannah and Dom spent together outside of the investigation getting to know each other, turning up the heat, and sharing the laughs. And then there’s the time spent on the phone while Hannah tried to talk to the men who call the Ruby line and Dom was right there with her. Those scenes had me laughing up a storm.

I loved that this story is based in Nashville. There were so many locations that I knew and it brought back my own memories of spending time there while envisioning these places once again.

I both read and listened to this book and I enjoyed the audiobook edition. I thought the narrators did a good job as the characters. I felt their emotions and was invested in their lives. They both delivered the humor flawlessly and I had the biggest smile on my face with every interaction they shared. I can’t wait for more from this series!
