Thank you, thank you, thank you Colleen Hoover!!! This book is the PERFECT finish to Layken and Will’s story. I couldn’t have wished for better!

Holy freaking SWOOOOOOOOOOOOOON! I think Colleen may have created the perfect man. He’s so gorgeous, I absolutely love him!

This Girl picks up at the exact moment that Point of Retreat finishes, but actually goes back and tells the story of Slammed– but from Will’s POV. He and Layken are on their honeymoon, and are reminiscing back to the beginning of their relationship. There are gorgeous moments with them together in the present, intermingled with flashbacks to the past, getting Will’s perspective on the big, key moments from Slammed and it. is. phenomenal!

I reread Slammed and Point of Retreat before reading this, and I’m happy to say that it didn’t feel repetitive at all. As well as seeing all of the main scenes that I wanted to see, there were also a few surprises – conversations that we hadn’t seen, friendships that we didn’t know about, and some extra scenes that all combine with the story that we know and love to give extra depth to Will and Lake’s story, AND I LOVED IT!!

“She deserves to be kissed by someone who loves her. Someone who spends every waking moment trying to do everything right by her. Someone who would rather die than see her hurt. She doesn’t deserve to be kissed by anyone other than me.” 

We get to see what happened immediately after the ending of Slammed (like, immediately after, with some make-out action and further declarations of love in the car park), as well as some highlights of Will and Lake’s first weeks together as an official couple. And then there is the epilogue, which takes us years beyond Point of Retreat to give us a glimpse of the future, and it’s freaking PERFECT!

I butterflying ADORE this series! Colleen Hoover has given us an incredible story of two amazing characters finding their way to each other, and claiming their future, along with their self-made family. Having Will’s perspective is like the icing on the cake, rounding out the whole thing and making the story more complete. And it is absolutely phenomenal.
