OMG! Absolute butterflying rollercoaster!!!

6 massive stars!

What an amazing read. At one point I had to put my kindle down just to take a moment before going on it was so gut wrenching (like Joey in Friends, I was tempted to put my kindle in the freezer for a bit). It was totally worth it though! The continuation of Will and Lake’s beautiful love story had me captivated from start to finish as they begin the next stage of their lives together, and I couldn’t put this book down as it all played out in gloriously fun, sweet, swoony and emotional detail.

My heart pounds against my chest. Not because I’m nervous. Not even because I want her worse that I’ve ever wanted her before. It’s pounding against my chest because I realize I’ve never been so sure about the rest of my life than I am in this moment. This girl is the rest of my life.

Oh Will! This man completely captured my heart in Slammed and his pure awesomeness is reinforced in this one as we get his POV! We see him and Laken happy, together, and in love, and though they have issues to work through, they do it all functionally, and it works to add depth to the story as we get to feel the depth of his love for his girl and his absolute devotion to her, and OMG what a swoonfest!

“I love being with you so bad
When we aren’t together, I miss you so bad
One of these days I’m going to marry you so bad
and it’ll be
so
so
good.”

And we see him easily and naturally step into the role of partner and family man, caring for Lake and their two younger brothers. The theme of family – both real and the one you create yourself – runs strongly throughout this book, and the dynamics are just brilliant as this strange little group finds their way forward together. The characters in this book are incredible, I honestly loved all of them, and was cheering for them all at some point of the book.

The slams in this story were especially sensational – especially Will’s final one and the two kids at the end. I’m not a huge fan of poetry, but the way these poems are woven into the story are just brilliant! I freaking loved it all!

I cannot rave enough about these two books. Colleen you have a gift! It was wonderful, I loved everything about it! Absolute gold!

6 stars!
