Dr. Erotic.
That’s what they’ve decided to call me, Scott Shepard, the head of St. Luke’s Hospital Emergency Department.
Just thinking about it makes me smile.
As the new face of the reality docuseries, The Doctor Is In, I plan to take his power and recognition right to the streets of New York City and into the pants of willing women.

Well, that was my plan.

Until her—feisty, beautiful, and addictively sexy Harlow Paige.
A gossip columnist that just loves writing about yours truly, she’s everything I thought I never wanted and then some.
She drives me crazy.
Problem is, she doesn’t want to be anything when it comes to me—not friends, not lovers, not even adversaries.
God, I love a good challenge.
Get ready, Harlow. Love is contagious.

Review

4.5 stars!

Paging Dr. Erotic fans! I’ve got some dirt to dish!

The Doctor Is In is back on the air and now it’s Dr. Scott Shepard’s turn in the spotlight. Scott is the head of the Emergency Department at St. Luke’s Hospital. He is known for his casual hookups and a serious relationship is nowhere on his radar. Excited for the show, he has embraced it and is on top of the world. Though we don’t get many details about each episode, we still see him reap the benefits of fame.

I, Scott Shepard, was officially Dr. Erotic—and I’d take his power and recognition right to the streets of New York City and into the pants of willing women.
Are you ready for me?

Harlow Paige isn’t looking for anything serious either. Her heart was broken in the past and she has no desire to experience it again. But she has needs and is desperate to find someone to fulfill them so she has no problem casually dating to scratch that itch. When an accident during her latest date lands her in the ER, the only positive she can take away from the bad experience is meeting the famous Dr. Scott Shepard. Harlow is the lead columnist for Gossip magazine and after her run-in with him, she knows her readers would devour a column on Dr. Erotic.

Dr. Scott Shepard was exactly as advertised-seductive and charming with a smile that flirted even better than he did.

No matter how attracted Harlow is to Scott, she knows she can’t get involved. Scott has other ideas though, and when he realizes who she really is, she is even more intriguing.

She didn’t want to be adversaries, friends, lovers…anything?
Sure sounds like a challenge to me…
God, I fucking loved a good challenge.

Sometimes the chemistry between two people is too hard to deny and they end up catching the love bug. You know what they say, “love is contagious”, and we see first hand what happens when a casual hook-up turns into so much more.

I devoured this book. It’s sweet, swoony, funny, and sexy. The plot was original and the characters were fun. They are so much more than what you see on the outside and I loved them!

Harlow was hysterical. I couldn’t stop from laughing out loud nearly every time I was in her head. She was sweet and a genuinely nice person, but she has a feisty side that was awesome and a great personality. I understood her reluctance to date after learning of her past, and I loved watching her fall for Scott, because really, who wouldn’t have fallen for him?

Scott was cocky but I couldn’t help but love him. He has a dirty mouth that will light you on fire and a sweet side that will make you swoon. He’s known for his sexual appetite but he is so much more. He’s a great doctor and wants what’s best for his patients. I loved that he was honest about his feelings and his antics as he pursued Harlow continuously put a smile on my face.

Harlow and Scott are fantastic together. The epic banter had me laughing out loud, as did their interactions. There are so many hilarious moments that my smile grew as I turned the pages.

“I had another inside source.”
“One better than me?”
“Yes, if you must know. You’re biased.”
“I’m biased,” I repeated.
“Yep. You like to sugarcoat things about yourself, obviously. So I had to talk to another inside source.”
“And that person would be?”
“I can’t tell you that. But if I get permission from them, I will.” She paused and I sighed, deep and beleaguered.
“Okay,” she relented. “I got permission.”
I furrowed my brow in confusion. “Just now?”
“Yep. I’m the inside source.”
“How the fuck are
you the inside source? I’ve never met you.”
“Ah, see, that isn’t something my source is comfortable divulging.”
“Your source, meaning you.” My temples throbbed with my now heavy pulse.
“Exactly.”
“Harlow—”
“Listen, Scott, I’ve really gotta go. But it was nice chatting, okay?”
“No, it’s not okay—”
“Talk to you soon.”
Click.

I loved that when Harlow and Scott’s emotions start to creep in, they realize that they want to get to know the other in a way they usually avoid. I enjoyed watching as their feelings became real.

“I need you,” I whimpered against his lips. “I need you so bad, Scott.”
Funnily enough, despite my pleas for it, this
still wasn’t about sex.
“I need you, too, Low.” He leaned back, and his gaze locked with mine. “More than just right now or tomorrow or next week or next month. I
need you. Always.”

The relationship progressed nicely and realistically and they were such a fun couple. They had awesome chemistry and the sexy time was hot. I loved that there wasn’t any stupidity between Harlow and Scott and there was very little angst while still having depth to the story. Overall, it’s an enjoyable book and I still have a goofy smile on my face long after I turned the last page. Dr. ER is a fantastic addition to the series and I can’t wait for the next book!
