4.5 stars!

Fun and sexy with a whole lot of heart, I love this book! It’s everything that I love about Vi Keeland, with a strong, smart, sensible heroine and a fantastic hero that I fell madly for.

Layla is a lawyer who is recovering from a ‘bump’ in her career. She’s been given the opportunity to present to a new client and knows this is the chance she’s been waiting for to prove herself. But when she walks into the room she is stunned to find that the new client is Grayson Westbook – the man who broke her heart, and the man who, after a year, she is only just starting to move on from. And with a few secretive words and an irresistible smirk, he makes it clear that he’s here to get her back.

“We’re not going to happen, Gray.”
A slow smile stretched across his handsome face. “Yes, we are. You can fight it all you want.”

Gray and Layla had an unconventional relationship that was unique, and a really pleasant surprise to uncover. It was mostly them opening up and sharing everything about themselves, a true emotional connection that was incredibly intense and they felt deeply for each other. And then it all fell apart when Layla discovered that Gray had been dishonest with her. But now that Gray is finally in a position where he can fight for his girl, he will stop at nothing to have her.

God, I love Gray! He is a confidently possessive alpha who is committed and absolutely devoted to Layla from the very beginning. He is a man who feels deeply and who isn’t afraid to share his heart, and I loved his passion and determination to make Layla a part of his life again, like he knows it’s a done deal and she just needs to come around.

“We’re not over. We’re just getting started. Because what we had was real, and real doesn’t go away, no matter how much you want it to.”

Layla is understandably terrified of the man who hurt her so badly, but she’s brave enough to trust her feelings, and the relationship that develops between them is something truly special. And so freaking functional! They are open and honest with each other, they don’t play games, they put it all out there and follow their hearts and I loved it!

I was crazy about Gray in a way that I’d never experienced with a man. Something inside of me just knew what we had was something special.

And did I mention the sexy? Because this Gray and Layla together are seriously sexy! Hot damn, Gray is deliciously dirty with a filthy mouth and a wicked imagination, and the sexy time is off-the-charts hot! But more than that is the emotional connection between them that is quickly rekindled, and I loved watching them easily and naturally find their way forward.

The intensity of our connection knocked the wind right out of me.

I wanted to touch this man more than anything I’d ever wanted.

Never in my life had I felt such hunger, felt so deeply desired.

As I have come to expect from this author, she likes to throw a dramatic twist into her books, and this one was no different – taking an already fantastic story and adding something unexpected for her characters to deal with, making it a truly special read.

I listened to this as an audiobook, and as always Sebastian York and Andi Arndt do a fantastic job. I couldn’t stop listening, and I laughed and swooned and fell in love right alongside these characters. I felt it all, and I freaking loved it!

Such a great read. 4.5 stars!
