Blurb

Liam Callahan is devastatingly handsome, infuriatingly aloof and… my new boss? Put that at the top of the list of ‘Things I Wish I’d Known (Before I Was Panting in His Arms During a Sizzling Midnight Make-out Session.)’

My bartending gig at Rascals was supposed to be a fresh start for me. Now I’m juggling drink orders AND red-hot sexual tension – but I refuse to let Liam’s smoldering stares throw me off my game…

Until one late night leads to another. And another. Liam has a reputation as Mr Heartbreaker, but he’s revealing a whole new side of himself: funny, playful, and most definitely NSFW. But this rascal has made a rule of never getting in too deep, and despite the real connection between us, something’s holding him back.

Can we find a way to put the past behind us and move on? Or will my new beginning end before it’s even begun?

Find out in the hot new stand-alone romance from Katie McCoy!

Review

3.5 stars!

Juliet’s life came to a sudden halt when she injured her knee preventing her from ever dancing again. Now she’s trying to put the pieces of her life together and figure out what her future holds.

I was still in mourning. For a lot of things. For my career, for my freindships, for my dreams.

Liam likes order. His tumultuous oil childhood made him grow up quickly and he is used to cleaning up messes and handling. He knows what he wants out of life and what type of woman he wants to settle down with, and Juliet is the type of girl Liam wants to stay away from. He doesn’t really know her yet she is quickly getting under his skin.

From the moment she approached me at the bar, I should have handled the who things differently. I shouldn’t have flirted. Shouldn’t have agreed to dance. And I definitely shouldn’t have kissed her back in the alleyway.
Because a girl like Jules – the kind of girl you met in a bar – was not part of the plan. And I don’t have time for people or things that weren’t part of the plan.

Soon though, Liam and Juliet get caught up in a love story that neither saw coming.

I love the Rascals and I was looking forward to another one of their stories and Heartbreaker didn’t disappoint. It is a sexy, sweet romantic comedy that was low angst and high on smiles.

Juliet is a hard worker who is faced with a new future and it’s scary having to choose what to do next when you never considered losing he thing you love. The new normal is not what she expected but I really liked her excitement and felt the emotion was well written. She was a breath of fresh air as we watch her try new things and she is exactly what Liam needed even if he didn’t know it at the time.

Liam is strung tight, carrying so much on his shoulders. I loved that Juliet could break down his walls and show him how fun breaking rules can be. But more than that she showed him what it was like when someone finally takes care of him and not the other way around. She opens his world up in a way he never imagined.

Juliet and Liam cannot take their hands off each other. From the moment their eyes connected here was a spark. It was palpable and intense and I felt the electricity. I loved that Juliet wanted some fun and the Liam couldn’t control himself around her, and they are HOT together!

However, the back and forth was a bit much and even though I understood where Liam was coming from, his “hot and cold” behavior was frustrating at times. I’m glad Juliet opened his eyes to how wonderful she was without all the things he thought he needed in a woman and that they ended up being perfect together.

Overall, it was a very entertaining read and I love this series. I am looking forward to Sawyers story!

Sawyer is about to get a blast from the past…
