Never again would I allow my heart to become the plaything of someone else.
Never again would I let a man (or men) come between me and my goals.
Never again would I love without feeling the fullness of that love in return.
Not until I knew it was real. And if that took me a lifetime to find, so be it.

Those were my vows, and after all that had happened with Connor and Weston, I was determined to keep them. To protect my heart.
And then he came home, and my vows became his promises.

He held my heart in his hands with reverence and care.
He helped me find my soul’s greatest purpose in life.
He loved me with a love so pure and vibrant, I knew I’d never feel anything like it in a hundred lifetimes.
It was real.

Until it wasn’t.
Until it all came crashing down when I discovered the deep love I thought I’d found was nestled in a web of lies—so soft and silken I hadn’t noticed it was there.
Until it was too late.

5+ stunning stars!

“If there is love, there is hope for forgiveness.”

Spectacular. Brilliant. Breathtaking. Captivating. Emotional. This duet is everything. I loved it in its entirety and it is impossible to release the hold it has on my heart. From the remarkable writing and original characters to the friendships, romance, and all the angst that fills the pages, the execution of the story was perfection and I wouldn’t change a thing.

Emma Scott is a gifted writer. You don’t just read her books, you live them. Her words are beautiful and poetic, painting vivid pictures in the reader’s mind. It’s impossible to resist the pull this story had on my heart and I easily found myself fully invested in every detail, every word, every emotion that poured from the pages.

Autumn, Wes, and Conner are amazing characters. Far from perfect, they are flawed and harbor insecurities and vulnerabilities that shape their lives. Their journeys to happiness are difficult ones full of ups and downs but the growth inside of each of them is extraordinary as they accept their truths while never truly letting go of each other.

These characters share a bond that is unbreakable. The depth of their friendship is endless. I bawled my eyes out for Wes and Conner, for all they have been through and all that they shouldered. And for Autumn and all the things she thought she knew, the feelings she felt, and the heartache she bore. Even through the rough patches that crushed my soul, they prove over and over that true friendship is forever and surrounded by unconditional love.

A love that ran deeper than friendship, deeper than family. A combat-tested bond that transcended blood and bone.
Soul mates.

The romance in this book is gorgeous. It is slow building and believable. The ferocity of love is breathtaking, real, and raw. Even though it is brutally honest and heart wrenching at times, my heart soared as these characters found the love that was meant for them.

Something is happening…
I couldn’t deny it any longer. I was standing at the edge, ready to jump, and savoring the moment. Relishing anticipation’s potent mix of exhilaration and fear. Waiting for the thing—the moment, the event, the word—that would push me over. It was coming. I could feel it. I could see it in his eyes.

Even with moments that seem unforgivable, love prevails and my heart was so full of joy. It’s a flawless depiction of real love as these characters experience not only the highest of highs but also the lowest of lows. And the feels! OMG the feels. They are all-consuming. I was an emotional mess through this whole book but in the best possible way. I know it seems crazy to be bawling my eyes out while still loving every single word but that is exactly what happened. There is so much hurt and betrayal that I couldn’t help but cry for the past, present, and future. Yet, it is filled with so much love that the happy tears outweighed the sad ones.

“I’ve loved you for so long. Meeting you in the library that first time felt like a reunion. I’ve loved you in a thousand lifetimes. Do you feel it?”
“Yes,” she whispered. “I’ve been looking for you my entire life.”

It is definitely a painful journey to these characters’ happily-ever-afters but the hurt is worth it as the story wraps up in the most perfect of ways. I lived it, I loved it, and I will not forget it.

This duet captivated me from the start and this trio of wonderful characters have burrowed deep in my heart where they will forever remain. A must read, the Beautiful Hearts Duet goes straight to the top of my favorites list.

“Things happen for a reason. All things. Even the terrible ones…Wait long enough, you’ll see the reason. And if you stop pushing back at it, you don’t have to wait long at all.”
