Squee!! Jericho Forge is back and better than ever!! After the cliffhanger from Deal with the Devil I couldn’t wait to get my grabby little hands on Luck of the Devil, and it did not disappoint. It’s a fast-paced, steamy, addictive read, that is unputdownable. I am totally invested in Jericho and Indy and can’t get enough of their story!
This book has more of everything I loved in the first one. More steam, swoon, suspense, action, and mystery. We get answers but then there are so many more questions with every turn of the page. Indy is back with Jericho and things are going to change. She doesn’t know what the truth is but she isn’t going to back down. She is strong and fierce, and I loved her even more in this book!
There is no question that Jericho wants Indy. It may not have started that way but he isn’t ready to let her go. Real feelings are getting in the way of the end game and complications screw with his plans but it’s Indy that has taken him by surprise.
I want to slay fucking dragons for this woman—even though I’m one of them.
She’s changed him and he is a better person with her by his side. He’s strong and intimidating but when it comes to Indy he is sweet, thoughtful, and swoony, and I keep falling harder for him.
“I know you’ve had to shoulder everything yourself for a long time. But you’re not alone anymore, and you don’t have to hold it all in because you’re afraid the people who rely on you can’t handle the truth. I’m here, and I’m strong enough to carry every burden weighing you down. If you’d just fucking trust me, you’d know that I’ve got you. I’m not going to let anything happen to you or your sister or Alanna. I’ll keep you all safe. I swear.”
Like I said before, Jericho can do whatever the hell he wants. I am hooked on him!
As with first book, this one delivers delicious sexual tension. Jericho and Indy are a mix of hot and cold and it just adds to the entertaining banter and the steamy sexy times. And OMG, Jericho and Indy are so hot together that I’m surprised the pages didn’t catch fire. That said, it’s not all about their amazing chemistry. From the start, there was a connection but it has developed into so much more. They accept each other and dig deep when it comes to understanding everything that makes them who they are. I loved watching the relationship progress and I became more invested in them as they grew both individually and as a couple.
The storyline in this book is so good! GAH! There are new players and new twists that keep you on the edge of your seat. More lies and betrayal that will shock you. It was suspenseful and nerve-racking as I waited for it to all go wrong. I knew something big was going to happen and when it does, it’s jaw-dropping. My heart was racing and I was sweating. It’s a killer cliffy and now I am desperate for more. I need to see how things play out. I need things to be OK. I need the final book!
This might be the last chance I ever have.
Maybe that’s my punishment for doing what I’ve done. Getting one shot at the thing I didn’t know I’d want most, and then having it ripped away from me forever.
