ATTENTION: If you have been a victim of false advertising, you may be entitled to compensation. If you were ever hired to take care of a fourteen-year-old boy’s knee injury on a luxury ranch in the Middle of Nowhere, Utah, but that fourteen-year-old boy ended up being a tall, rough-and-tumble, muscular, one-hundred-percent all-man cowboy by the name of Rhett Jameson, you may have been put at risk for falling in love. Please seek counsel immediately.

Dear Counselor,

It was supposed to be a simple favor for my very important boss, Frank Kaminsky of the Salt Lake Slammers professional basketball team—go to his good friend Tex Jameson’s luxury ranch and provide personal medical care for his recently injured teenage son.

I thought it’d be a working vacation of sorts—a chance for my city-girl self to experience something I would never otherwise do—but everything is upside down, and absolutely nothing is as I thought it would be.

For one, this patient is not a teenage boy.
He’s a real-life, blue-eyed, tough-as-nails, thirtysomething cowboy who is so darn strong he looks like he could lift a car just for the heck of it.

He’s also stubborn, rude, and we don’t get along…at all.

Add in the heart-melting vision of him as a single father to the cutest little girl on the planet, and I’ve found myself in a whole different dimension of trouble.

Lust. Feelings. A whole lot of enemies-to-lovers-style complication.

Please help me. My name is Dr. Leah Levee, I am a victim of false advertising, and if I’m not careful, this Grumpy Cowboy might just be the death of me.

Review

4.5 stars!

Grumpy Cowboy is an enemies-to-lovers romance set on a ranch between a grumpy cowboy (surprise, surprise) and the city girl who changes his life! It is so much fun and full of laughs and heart, and a fantastic addition to the Single Dad Collection.

Dr. Leah Levee comes to Shaw Springs Ranch to help provide medical care to Rhett Jameson as a favor to her boss. Only, from the beginning nothing is what she expected. The patient is not a fourteen-year-old like she was told but rather a single father and smoking hot cowboy that does funny things to her insides. Despite her attraction, she is focused on doing her job but boy, oh boy, Rhett does not make it easy. He refuses the help and they butt heads every time they are together but somehow Leah gets under his skin and into his heart when he least expects it.

These two are a hoot together. You have a grumpy cowboy who wants his knee healed but refuses to rest it and the city girl doctor who knows exactly what he needs to fix his knee. The banter is hilarious and the push and pull is so much fun. They do anything they can to get on each other’s nerves but slowly they start getting closer and it is so sweet.

I’ve never felt anything like this…it’s as if I’m sitting right in a puddle of every emotion I never knew how to feel. Like there’s a peace in the connection with a woman I don’t understand entirely. Like finding out all the little pieces that make her gives me a purpose I didn’t know I needed.

Rhett and Leah are fantastic together but it’s the secondary characters that really round out the whole story. Rhett’s daughter, Joey, is adorable! I love kids in stories and she was such a wonderful addition to this one. Rhett as a father is totally swoontastic and Leah loves her the moment they meet which does not go unnoticed by Rhett. The connections between Rhett and Leah, Rhett and Joey, and Leah and Joey are undeniable and I loved when these three spent time together.

Rhett’s mom and dad are wonderful as are all the ranch hands. They all know what Rhett needs even when he fights them on it but they give tough love and prove their love. The ranch is one large family and a wonderful place to be.

Overall, I loved Grumpy Cowboy, and in the end, this grumpy cowboy isn’t grumpy for long when the right woman comes into his life. Rhett wasn’t ready to fall in love but that is just what happens when confident, sassy city girl Leah steals his heart.
