This is a gorgeous read!

This is the fifth book in the Pittsburgh Titans series, about a NHL team rebuilding after their whole team, and a portion of their staff and executive, were killed in a plane crash. The Titans are about to embark on their second season post-crash, and the team owner is about to have her world rocked by the snarky new goalie.

Brienne Norcross is the new Titans owner. She took over after the death of her beloved brother in the plane crash, but she’s also balancing her other responsibilities running her family’s billion-dollar dynasty. She’s young and driven, and a complete workaholic, and she’s determined to put together the best team she can.

Drake McGinn is a single dad to three little boys, and he’s justifiably angry and bitter at his treatment by the league after being unjustly sacked by another team. But Brienne has convinced him to join the Titans, promising things will be different and giving him the second chance he didn’t even realise he wanted.

Neither of them have time for, or even want, a relationship, but they cannot deny the mad lust between them, and they quickly find themselves in a no-strings fling that is hot as hell! Brienne’s life is all about control and order, but Drake completely takes over in the bedroom. His cold and demanding control suits them both perfectly, and they are both completely swept up in their passion for each other.

But little by little, their arrangement start to shift, and when they begin to open up to each other and develop feelings, they’ll have to figure out whether they can actually fit into each other’s lives, and if they even want to make the effort.

This is a really enjoyable read. Drake and Brienne are real and relatable – I loved Brienne’s strength and stubborn determination, as well as her willingness to accept the changes that she goes through when she starts to open up her life to others. And Drake is so deliciously grumpy, watching him fall was a real treat. I felt what they were feeling, I loved their passion for each other and watching everything change for them, and I was happily swept up in their slow burning romance.

I loved it – 4 stars!
