The sixth and final book in the Rosewood River series, this is a sweet, sexy and beautifully functional small town, single dad/nanny romance that captured my heart. I loved it.
Archer is a busy, devoted single Dad to adorable 5-year old Melody, Winnie is a newie romance author who is leaving a bad marriage behind and moving to Rosewood River for a fresh start. She gets the job as nanny for little Melody and moves into Archer’s home, forming an instant bond with the little girl and effortlessly becoming part of the family.
There are immediate sparks between Archer and Winnie, but he is ten years older than her and reluctant to get involved, and she’s not looking for a relationship. But the more time they spend together, the stronger their attraction becomes, and the chemistry is so good! They flirt and tease, they’re both upfront about their attraction and their reservations in getting involved, and they talk openly about everything, and develop the most beautiful friendship. It’s functional and so refreshing, and the more they get to know each other, their feelings become impossible to ignore, and they fall effortlessly for each other.
“I know you’re not looking for anything serious, and I know I said that I wasn’t looking for anything serious. But I don’t know, Win. I feel like maybe we found something special when we weren’t looking.”
The romance is sweet, fun, sexy and swoony, and I loved watching them come together. It’s so sweet, and so easy, and their family and friends are all up in their lives and supporting them along the way. We see lots of them together as a couple, and with little Melody, and though they have some issues to resolve, there’s no angst and no third-act break up, just a gorgeous love story that left me feeling all dreamy and loved-up.
The characters from previous books all appear, and I love this group together. The girly book club and the guys’ group chats are wildly entertaining, and the strong family themes are so well done. And yes, we finally get an answer to the Taylor Tea mystery that has run through the series!
This is a really enjoyable read, and I loved losing myself in this small town with these characters. I have loved this series, and Archer, Winnie and Melody’s story stole my heart.
