I love this book! A sweet, funny, easy, chemistry-filled romance with very little angst, a quirky, lovable heroine and a whole heap of swoony alpha hero. Aurora Rose Reynolds writes such great love stories, and she’s done a fantastic job with this one.

Fawn Reed is over men. Dating has been a bit of a nightmare for her, and she’s tired of the whole thing. She has a happy life – she loves her job as a teacher, has two fabulous sisters and supportive and loving parents, and it’s while revelling in her freeness that she literally runs into Levi Fremont. They clash instantly, and though he is devastatingly gorgeous, Fawn is happy to see the back of him… until she realises that he is her brand new neighbour.

Levi is a homicide detective who is moving right across the hall from Fawn. He is immediately attracted to his quirky, clumsy neighbour, but she seems to be going to extremes to have nothing to do with him. Being the smooth, confident alpha that he is, Levi takes all of this in his stride, knowing that he’ll eventually get Fawn to drop her shields, he just needs to be patient.

Fawn tries to hide her attraction to Levi, oblivious to the fact that he is feeling the same towards her. It takes a series of accidental meetings and dog-initiated encounters for them to actually spend any time together, and the chemistry between them sizzles each and every time they are together. The fall into ‘something more’ is natural, easy and well paced. There’s no jumping into anything, they admit their feelings, they act on it, and they just go with it, and it’s all so incredibly awesome! Fawn is fantastic. She’s sweet, funny and relatable, and her quirkiness is endearing. I thought she handled herself so well. And though she has her doubts and concerns, Levi guides her through it, and the man is just sensational – sexy and alpha but sweet with a huge heart, I absolutely love him and the no-nonsense way he went about pursuing Fawn.

After knocking on Levi’s door, I don’t even have a second to wait before he’s pulling me through the door and shutting it behind me. “What are you doing?” I ask his back as he drags me across the living room.
“We’re going to make out.”
“What?” I squeak as he pulls me into his bedroom and kicks the door closed.
“Your dog’s taking up the couch, so we’re going to make out in here.”

And together they are absolutely magic. Funny, sweet, honest and sincere, and of course seriously hot, their teasing, banter and occasional snark is so much fun.

“Stop checking me out and making me all dizzy when I’m annoyed with you.”
“I make you dizzy?” I smile smugly, and she huffs, blowing a piece of hair out of her face. “I can’t help it, baby. Swear to god, you’re adorable when you’re flustered, but when you’re pissed, you’re fucking exquisite.”

And I could feel every emotional moment between them, and I fell in love right alongside them.

“I’m lost in you, baby … so fucking unbelievably lost in you.”

There’s added hilarity with both of their families all up in their business in highly inappropriate ways, and with some stories already setting up nicely for Fawn and Levi’s siblings, I’m so hoping that we get to see more of them in future books. And the touch of drama that comes from Levi’s job does a nice job of adding some interest without overwhelming the story.

I loved this book! It’s a quick read that is fun, funny, sweet and sexy with a gorgeous romance. There’s no unnecessary drama or angst, and I truly enjoyed every moment of Levi and Fawn’s story.

A fantastic read – 4.5 stars.
