4 sweet and sexy stars!

Aurora Rose Reynolds can always be counted on for sexy, feelgood romance, and she delivered with this book. A gorgeous love story with an irresistible hero who is determined to get his girl, this book was sweet, hot and beautifully romantic and I loved it.

Mackenzie (Mac) has just been stood up on a blind date when a gorgeous man strides into the bar where she’s sitting alone and strikes up a conversation. Mac is way out her element, all dolled up in girly wear when she would usually be at home with a pair of sweats on, but she decides to live a little for once and she goes home with him and has a night of unforgettable sex, before running away before he wakes.

Wesley knows that one night with Mac will never be enough, and when he sees her again he proves it with another blisteringly hot encounter (seriously steamy!). But again, Mac runs. The next time they unexpectedly see each other, he decides he’s not going to let her get away so easily.

I know without a doubt she was made just for me. Now I just need to convince her that I was made for her, too.

OMG, I love me a strong-minded hero, and that’s exactly what Wesley is. He knows what he wants, he doesn’t hide it, and he determinedly chases after Mac, not letting her get away with her stupid behaviour, and it was so good!

“Are you done running?” he asks while sliding his hands up my thighs, making my breath catch.
“I’m scared,” I admit.
He closes his eyes and touches his forehead to mine.
“Me too.” His admission catches me off guard, and my boy jolts. “But I’m not running, and I need to know that you’re going to give us a chance – a real chance.”

And he’s so freaking hot! Wes has a dirty mouth, the chemistry between these two is insane, and the sexy time in this book is sizzling.

“One of the things we’ve got figured out is chemistry, gorgeous. We have that in the bag. I can’t be in the same room with you without getting hard … I’ve never wanted anyone the way I want you, and I know by the way that your body reacts to me and my touch that you feel the same.”

Mac is a relatable heroine, though she is a bit annoying to begin with, with all of the running that she does. Her reasons are weak, but I like her as a character and I like that it doesn’t take her too long to come around. And once she realises that she feels for Wes just as strongly as he does for her, it’s all on, and it’s gorgeous!

“I kinda like you, Wesley Jameson.”
“I just straight-up like you, Mackenzie Reed.”

But life is unexpected, and these two will have to face some surprising twists and turns, as well as some demons from the past, before they can get their HEA.

This book follows on from Running into Love – Mac is the sister of Fawn, and Wesley is Levi’s partner. Both of these characters were introduced in the first book, but this one can easily standalone. In fact, I had forgotten about them entirely before I started this one and it wasn’t until I started reading that I even remembered them. But I did enjoy revisiting with Fawn and Levi, and the sisters’ hilariously crazy family, and Mac and Fawn’s younger sister has a bit of a storyline building already, and I’m really excited to read that one.

This was a really great read. I loved Wesley and Mac as characters, I loved seeing them together and I was easily caught up in their unfolding love story. There was the potential there for stupid drama, but it never reached that point, and instead we get a mostly functional relationship, with a committed couple overcoming their issues and finding their happy place together, and I loved the way it all played out for them. And that epilogue was just gorgeous.

I loved it. 4 stars.
