Nico

When I inherited the Dallas Oilers from my father , I became one of the youngest owners in hockey history. Even though the team was at the bottom of the hockey standings, I had big plans to change that and bring the Cup to Dallas.

Falling in love was something I never believed would happen to me.

You’d think I was getting everything I ever wanted with the girl and the winning record, but I still have a promise to fulfill to my childhood best friend.

Becca

Never let them see you sweat has been my life motto since I decided to make a name for myself as the most-sought-after sport agent.

I know what it takes to close a deal, and only want one thing—to be the best.

Until I felt his touch one night, and everything I thought I knew was forgotten. Nico is everything I’ve never let myself want.

But all my cards came crashing down the minute I read the headlines.

It takes only one touch to change everything!

4.5 stars!

A hot and steamy romance with a surprising amount of feels, this book is the fourth standalone in the Only You series, and it had me completely captivated.

Nico inherited ownership of NHL team the Dallas Oilers, and he has made it his life. He is the youngest owner in the league, is a workaholic who gives everything to the team, and he loves every moment of it.

Becca is a hotshot sports agent who is strong, confident, ballsy, and completely fabulous. She runs her own sports agency with her two fantastic brothers, and she works her ass off for her clients – a number of whom play for the Oilers. She’s a woman dedicated to her career who still has time to look glamourous at all times, and she’s pretty much who I want to be when I grow up.

Both Nico and Becca have appeared in previous books of this series, and I have loved seeing something simmering between them in previous books – and that bombshell at the end of the last book had me crazy with anticipation for this one. But rest assured, you can still read this one as a standalone.

Nico and Becca have worked together a lot over the years, but their relationship has always been professional. That all changes one night when suddenly something ‘clicks’, and they start seeing each other differently. Their flirting and banter is bold and overtly sexual, and when the two dominant personalities decide to explore their attraction, the result is explosive.

Holy freaking hotness, these two are bold and feisty and open to pretty much anything. They are insatiable and inexhaustible, and the sexy time in this book is hot as all hell! It’s a reflection of the connection between them, and in between their busy careers and all of the seamy hot sex, feelings develop and they agree to give an actual relationship a go. It’s a gorgeously developing relationship, with fantastically witty banter, and I love how honest they are with each other! They don’t hold back with anything, and things between them progress naturally and openly.

Until it doesn’t. The drama in this book comes from one stupid decision – one which the readers of the previous book in the series will be aware of, so I was waiting for it, and oh holy God, I was so pissed! However, as the situation becomes clearer, I became more understanding, and when the outcome of it all starts to unravel, my heart ached… actually it was pretty much ripped out of my chest at all that these two go through.

Drama like this can kill a book for me, but I thought this one was handled so well! A mistake was made, it was acknowledged, and I loved the way that both characters handled the fallout. Nico was incredible in his efforts to make amends, and his pain pretty much dripped off the pages of the book. I could feel his torment, and I thought his perspective on the whole thing was so beautifully written. And Becca! OMG, what a rockstar. She handles the whole thing like a champ – sensibly and maturely, but still allowing herself the time she needs to fall apart before pulling herself back together. Honestly, these two were a little on the overly-confident side for me when I began this book (I usually prefer my characters a little less dominant and intense), but the way they dealt with their situation – both individually and as a couple – completely won me over, and I feel like it was a development that they needed so that they could see where their hearts truly lie.

Joining in on the drama (and the fun times), the characters from previous books all make appearances, and I particularly loved Miller in this book, his protectiveness over Becca is gorgeous. We meet two fantastic new characters in Nico and Becca’s amazing assistants, and I loved that we got to see once again how important these characters all are to each other. In another glorious bonus, we are introduced to the hero of the next book – none other than Cooper Grant, son of Matthew and Karrie from Something So Perfect. I love that these books are continuing to bring us full circle, and I am super excited for his story.

Nico and Becca’s story will put your heart through the wringer, but it’s so worth it for the amazing love story. It’s hot, steamy, and beautifully emotional, and I loved this one.

4.5 stars!
