Wilson
I was the bad boy on and off the ice.
I loved it — owned it.
Hockey. Women. Money.
Until she came into the picture.
Now, all I want to do is be better.
I want to prove to myself I don’t have to be the guy everyone thinks I am.
She knocked down the walls I spent my whole life building.

Franny
My last name opened the doors, but proving I was worth the title of TV producer took all of my time.
He walked in with a chip on his shoulder.
I was happy to point out all his flaws.
Falling for him was inevitable.
When scandal hits, no one expected me to stand by his side.
Not even him.
But I’ve learned that you get only one love.

4.5 stars!

The seventh book in the Only One series, and we’re still going strong! This book is a fun, fiery, sexy story with two characters that I adored, and is a great addition to the series!

Franny is the daughter of Matthew and Callie (Something So Perfect), and she’s just packed up her life and moved to Dallas for a fresh start. She has a happy and successful life, but she’s busting to step out from under the shadow of her famous family and claim something that is just hers, and she’s accepted a new job as a TV producer for a sports show, is full of ideas and determined to prove herself.

Brad Wilson plays hockey for the Dallas NHL team. His teammates include Franny’s brother, Cooper, and cousin, Michael, along with all of the other boys of the series, and Wilson is considered the ‘bad boy’ of the team. It’s a reputation he probably deserves on the ice, but it is in no way a reflection of who he is as a person. He’s actually a sweetheart, dealing with a lot, but he’s confident with a great sense of humour, and I loved him pretty much instantly.

Sparks fly when Franny and Wilson meet, and in a hilarious twist, it turns out they’ve actually met before. It’s clear they have chemistry, and their attraction sizzles, and their banter and flirting is smutty and so entertaining. There is attraction there, but Franny has walls up and she doesn’t make it easy. She may be supremely sexually confident, but she doesn’t date, and has no intention of starting with Wilson, though as the sexual tension between them builds, she makes it clear that she’s more than open to sex. But Wilson wants more from her than that, and he brings the charm and the swoon as he tries to convince her to give him a shot for real, proving to her that he is so much more than the man that everybody thinks he is.

“What’s wrong?” I search her face.
“What’s wrong?” She puts her hand out, groaning. “What’s wrong? I’m suffering from restless vagina.” I can’t help but laugh out loud. “Don’t fucking laugh, Wilson, you put me in this condition.” She takes the phone in her hand and slaps her bed.
“Oh, baby,” I say softly, watching her blue eyes, and I suddenly wish I was next to her. Fuck, it’s not sudden.

It’s sexy, fun, and full of chemistry, and I loved watching these two find their way to each other. From the very beginning their relationship is honest and functional, and they are absolutely gorgeous together. Franny is strong and sassy, and she’s not about to let anybody push her around, and I love that about her. And Wilson may be a sweetheart, but he’s definitely all alpha. They are a great match, their passion for each other is out of control, and their love story is fantastic!

“Make no mistake about it, Frances.” His fingers come out of my hair to rub my cheek. “You’re mine.”

But just as they are finding their way, scandal hits. Those who read the previous book will know exactly what’s about to happen, and I’ve gotta say, I loved how it was all handled. The family is hilarious, and Franny is a freaking rockstar, and I was cheering for her and her badassery as they deal with the fallout and figure their way through it all.

There are some great, though unexpected, family dynamics in this one. And even though Franny is Matthew’s daughter, it’s her Uncle Max who absolutely shines in this book. Their relationship is just gorgeous, and I love how he is there for his niece. The rest of the extended, extended, extended family is on board (seriously, it’s getting hard to keep track of them all!), and I loved seeing them together. Alex, in particular, is a freaking riot, and I’m so excited for her book up next!

I loved this book. It’s seriously steamy and lots of fun with a gorgeous romance.

4.5 stars!

About the Author

When her nose isn’t buried in a book, or her fingers flying across a keyboard writing, she’s in the kitchen creating gourmet meals. You can find her, in four inch heels no less, in the car chauffeuring kids, or possibly with her husband scheduling his business trips. It’s a good thing her characters do what she says, because even her Labrador doesn’t listen to her…
