Ellie’s family owns and runs Abelard Vineyards and Gianni is the chef at the vineyard restaurant. Gianni and Ellie grew up together and though their moms were, and still are, best friends, they were and are not. Gianni bugged Ellie to no end and they got on each other’s nerves. And while Gianni could have anyone he wanted, Ellie made sure he couldn’t have her.

Abelard Vineyard is Ellie’s life. It means everything to her and she isn’t happy Gianni took a job at the vineyard because he is always around and seems to interfere in everything she does.

I always got a rise out of her. You’d think she’d just ignore me by now, but no—she consistently gave me the satisfaction of a scowl, a dirty look, a barb hurled in my direction. But I couldn’t help myself. There was just something so irresistible about getting under her skin—I was a kid in a candy store around Ellie Fournier.

Enemies-to-lovers is one of my favorite tropes, especially when the characters have a childhood history because I love the buildup. When Ellie and Gianni get stranded in a snow storm and the sexual tension skyrockets, I was waiting for them to combust because I knew it would be smoking boht. They have the time of their life but when morning comes, they vow to forget what happened and move on. However, a surprise pregnancy turns their world upside down. Now, they have to decide what they truly want in life.

I adored Ellie and Gianni! They are just so much fun together. From the banter to the heartwarming dialogue, these two really put a smile on my face. They had different wants and the pregnancy really made them evaluate where their lives are headed but one thing was constant through the story – two wonderful characters who have huge hearts. I thought the emotions were well written and the fears they face were believable. The attraction and chemistry were palpable and I loved their connection.

Readers will enjoy getting cameos from Ellie and Gianni’s parents (Mia and Lucus from Frenched and Coco and Nick from Forked) and all the Cloverleigh Farms characters. I adored Ellie and Gianni’s love story and the epilogue was icing on the cake!! It kept a smile on my face long after the last page was turned!

Overall, I loved Taste and I can’t wait for more from this series!
