New York Times bestselling author Corinne Michaels brings you a new small-town, brother’s best friend romance.

In one second, my life disappeared.

My past. My memories. My future.

The only certainty I have from the last three years is that my older brother is dead, and I am the only eyewitness.

In order to protect the case, the lawyers demand that no one give me any information about my life . . . I must remember on my own. My only help comes from my brother’s best friend and world-renowned investigative reporter, Spencer Cross.

He has no idea how many nights I’ve spent dreaming of his name—and his body—next to mine.

Now we’re a team and our goal is to recover my memories and retrace my past. But each day we spend together, he’s looking at me as more than his friend’s little sister and I find it harder to want my old life back. Instead I’m wishing for a new one–with him. His kiss feels like home. His arms make me feel safe, and I never want this to end.

As my memories return, forcing me to face my future, everything falls apart… especially when I find an engagement ring hidden in my apartment. I have no idea who gave it to me, or what it means about my past.

I may have asked Spencer to help me remember, but now I wish I could forget.

5 stars!

The first book in Corinne’s Michaels’ new Rose Canyon series, this is a gorgeous read! A heart pounding romance that is dramatic, emotional and so, so beautiful, and that had me feeling everything, I loved it!

Brielle’s world is turned upside down when she wakes up in hospital to discover that she was badly injured in an attack that killed her beloved older brother, Isaac, and that she has lost the memories from the last three years of her life. Devastated and confused, she feels completely lost, and it’s made even worse because her family and friends have been directed not to tell her anything about her life as she needs to remember on her own, otherwise it could damage the case against the murderer, and they need Brie to remember who it is.

Isaac’s best friends Holden, Emmett and Spencer gather around her. She grew up with them as her friends and fierce protectors, and they are determined to do whatever they can to help her. And it’s Spencer who she turns to – he’s a prize-winning investigative journalist, and the man she has loved for as long as she can remember.

Spencer is put into the awkward position of helping Brie retrace her steps and try to figure out the last three years of her life, but he’s not allowed to tell her anything that he actually knows… and he knows a lot. But he works with her anyway, as the trusted friend he has always been, and her safe harbour in the chaos of her life.

“I want you to remember your life, Brielle.”
I move my hand to his cheek, resting it softly there. “Then help me.”

I won’t go into details, because it’s best just to dive into this one without knowing too much ahead of time. I lost myself in this story, completely caught up in Brie’s journey, my heart pounding with anticipation as it all played out and desperate to see what was going to happen. And I felt it all! My heart ached for the characters and all that they were going through, but there are so many light and playful moments, and I cherished every single one of them.

The character dynamics are just fantastic, and I loved seeing Brie surrounded by so much love and care. And as she and Spencer spend more and more time together, the shift in their relationship was absolute perfection. There is so much between them and it unfolds absolutely effortlessly, and despite their complicated situation, they can’t resist their feelings, and the romance is gorgeous.

“Anything you want, I’ll give it to you.” I promise.
“You, I want you.”
She never has to ask for that. I am hers, and I will always be. I love her with everything I am. I will never deny her, damn the consequences.

The suspense storyline comes as Brie and Spencer work to unlock her memories and discover who killed her brother. And when she finds herself in danger, the Salvation crew are on board to protect her, and God, I loved seeing these boys again! What an absolute treat!

There is a bit of unnecessary drama and questionable decision making, and times when I wanted to give Brie a shake, but thankfully it doesn’t lead to too much prolonged angst. She is in such an extreme situation, but she’s surrounded by a sensible bunch who keep things from escalating too far out of control, which kept me from becoming frustrated.

This book owned me from start to finish. It’s heartfelt, dramatic, emotional, fun, sexy and gorgeously romantic, and so, so freaking swoony! I absolutely loved it!

“I have loved you since before I knew what love was. I have dreamed of you since I knew what dreams were. You are the air I breathe. The beat of my heart.”

It’s a wonderful start to a new series, and I’m so excited for more.
