Blurb

Talia Eden loved Foster Madden for one year, two months and eleven days. It was on day 438 that her love died. The day he chose to marry her best friend. The day she vowed never to think of Foster again.

Until years later when he has the audacity to show up in her small hometown of Quincy, begging for her help.

The ink on his divorce papers is barely dry, yet he comes armed with apologies and promises. She knows it’s all a ploy. Foster is the king of games and secrets. But he’s got delusions the size of Montana if he thinks she’ll help him train for a world championship fight.

Except Talia has forgotten exactly what made Foster famous. The man has dedicated his life to victory. He’s steadfast. He’s determined. And he won’t stop fighting until he’s won her heart.

The third book in The Edens series, Devney Perry has delivered a beautifully emotional second-chance-romance with all the feels, and a hero determined to make up for the wrongs of the past and win back his girl.

Foster Madden is the UFC champion, and he has just uprooted his life and moved from Vegas to the small town of Quincy, Montana. He’s there to build a quiet life for himself, and to reconnect with the love of his life, the girl he hurt so badly seven years previously, Talia Eden. He knows he messed up, and he knows he has his work cut out for him to get her to even listen to him, but he’s desperately in love and willing to do whatever it takes.

Talia was left shattered seven years ago when Foster brutally broke her heart. She picked herself up again, graduated medical school and she’s now back home in the town she loves with her beloved family around her, and working at the local hospital. It’s everything she’s dreamed of, but her world is shaken when Foster walks back in to her life.

From the very beginning, there is so much emotion between these two. Talia is angry and hurt, and she deservedly lashes out, spilling out years of repressed pain. But Foster loves her, he knows he has a lot of explaining to do and he’s prepared to take whatever she throws at him, and he’s holding nothing back.

“Just let me go, Foster.”
“I haven’t let you go in seven years. I’m not starting tonight.”

Underneath all that she’s feeling, Talia knows she has never moved on. Foster is her weakness and she’s just terrified of getting hurt again. Foster knows that, and though he pushes her, he’s gentle about it, going at a pace he knows she can handle, and watching him patiently and earnestly seek her forgiveness, her understanding, and her heart, while encouraging her to drop her shields and fully let him in, is absolutely beautiful.

“I waited a long time for you, love. I’ll wait as long as you need. You are mine.”

The chemistry between these two is electric. It’s there in every moment between them – from the fighting to the devastating reveals, the heartwrenching pleas and every little touch, glance and smile. It’s a slow build-up, and it’s absolutely gorgeous, and I felt everything alongside them as they slowly and honestly find their way back to each other. And it’s an absolute swoon-fest!

“I have never stopped loving you … And I never will.”

While the romance is unfolding, Talia is trying to establish herself in her career, and Foster is training for his upcoming title fight. There’s also personal and family complications that add a lot of emotion to the story, and all of the elements combine really nicely to create a full, heartfelt and meaningful journey for the two of them.

Talia’s family are all a part of the action, and I loved seeing them again! We get to see the couples from the previous two books, and spend a bit of time with Talia’s two sisters who are yet to have their stories told. There’s also a wicked tease at the end of the book for Eloise’s book coming up next, and I’m so excited for that one!

This is a beautiful, emotional and heartfelt love story from one of the queens of small-town romance. Such a gorgeous read, and I loved it.

4.5 stars.
