Reed Taylor doesn’t pay much attention to the holidays—until he receives a surprise present. Four-year-old Piper is the daughter he never knew about, and with the death of her mother, is also now the roommate he never expected. He’s determined to make their first Christmas together one she’ll never forget.

Noel Thompson has gotten her share of strange requests in her career as an interior designer. The call to design a beautiful home for Christmas is more like a dream come true. And that was before she met her new employer—sexy and mysterious, he’s everything she ever hoped Santa would bring her.

As Noel showers his home with holiday spirit, Reed showers Piper with love. And the busy life he’s created for himself no longer seems nearly as important as the one Noel is helping him build with his daughter. But if he can’t convince his decorator to stay, this could be the only year he feels the true wonder of the season.

**Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you’ll enjoy each one as much as we do.**

4 stars!

A short and sweet instalove story that is functional and full of chemistry, and left me with a big grin on my face.

Reed Taylor is a hardworking businessman who gets the shock of his life when a four year old daughter that he had no idea even existed is dropped off on his doorstep when her mother dies. But he is instantly smitten and turns his life completely around to make little Piper the centre of his world, and that includes giving her the best Christmas he possibly can.

Noel Thompson is the sister of Joy from Love With Me, and she is the interior designer called in to Christmas the hell out of Reed’s new house. It’s a dream job made all the more dreamy when she lays eyes on her gorgeous new client, and sparks instantly fly between the two of them. And when Reed insists on Noel overseeing the job herself, and begins drawing her into his world, he makes it clear he’s on a mission for something more.

“I have some personal questions, too.”
“Sweetheart, if I have my way, you and I area headed for as personal as it gets, so ask all of the questions you want.”
I tip up an eyebrow. “I do like your honesty.”
“There’s no need to be anything but honest.”

I love a functional romance, and Reed is out there and honest about what he wants and it’s SO refreshing! There’s no games or messing about, he wants Noel and he goes all out to get her, and I love that! Noel is initially wary of becoming involved with a client, but it doesn’t take her too long to get over that, and things move really quickly. And with the two of them happily throwing themselves all-in to explore their sizzling chemistry, it doesn’t take long for feelings to follow.

“Why does love have to work on any certain timeline? Why can’t it just be?

You expect a novella to be fast-paced, and this one certainly is, but I happily went along with the flow. I felt the connection between Reed and Noel, which is sweet and super passionate with a lot of depth, and little Piper was a wonderful little addition to their family.

This is a really cute Christmas read, and I loved it.

4 stars!
